Walmart and Best Buy ads dropped.

Best Buy has up to $150 off XS Max and XR with qualified activation. Doesn't give the details on what you have to do to get up to $150 off

Best Buy also has the 7 starting at $9.99 with qualified activation.

Walmart is a good deal if you want Christmas shopping money.

$400 Walmart gift card with the 8, 8+ and X. $300 Walmart gift card with the XS, Max and XR

The Target ad I previously posted is a $250 Target gift card with the XS and Max.

Nothing worth waiting for. Guess there is always hope carriers will have some good deals. But if you base it on past years Best Buy and Walmart usually do better than carriers on Black Friday.

I'm actually eyeing the $400 Walmart gift card with the 8+. It lowers my monthly payment from what I'm paying now and I can get majority of my gifts with the gift card.

Has anyone taken advantage of a Black Friday deal at a retail store? I know they say based on their availability, so wondering if they usually have decent stock (iPhone X or XS) to actually find the color and storage that you want. I figured Best Buy would have better stock than Walmart but that $150 is disappointing.

My wife and I did last year at Best Buy with the iPhone 8 for our son. Per the rep they had "truckloads" of them. We got it just before we stopped for dinner so I'd say it was around 5pm on Friday. He told me the 8 and 8 plus were selling better than the X.

The Walmart one looks very enticing as I would be upgrading two of my lines. My idea is to get the first one, then use the gift card towards a down payment on the second one which would lower the monthly payment on it. Then the remaining gift card would be used towards Christmas gifts as that would be more than adaquate. I just don’t know how much of a headache it would be to go to Walmart for this deal.

Target has $250 GC offer for Black Friday.
Sams Club in the 10th will have a $300 GC offer.

Just check out slickdeals...

All worth waiting for.

That's what I figured as far as Best Buy. We just got an unopened iPhone X 256gb for my fiance a couple weeks ago for $740 which was decent. That $400 from Walmart would've been nice but wonder how much stock they'll have and how many options. I'm looking to pick up an iPhone XS 256gb for Black Friday so have to decide where I want to go. Really wish Best Buy's offer was better...

Correct me if I'm wrong: isn't the Best Buy deal a $150 discount that applies to the DPP? Using the XS as an example, $999 - $150 = $849/24mo = $35.37 monthly payment. I think the Best Buy discounts usually work this way, at least on Verizon.

While the Target and Walmart deals are full price phones that come with a gift card. I don't shop at either of these stores that often. The gift card is a great bonus, but I'm not sure how I'd use it other than buying more things (that I may not need). I guess one could use it to pay for AppleCare?

That's what I was thinking.

Also, does activation mean activating the new phone on your account or is it only for new lines?

The discount on the price of the phone is how I read it as well. If it was a $200 discount I'd probably go for it, but I'll probably still go for the $400 Walmart gift card first. If there are not any in stock I'll head to Best Buy.

Walmart scares me, for the amount of people and then stock (will they have my 256gb in Silver?) But $300 gift card for the XS is a bit more enticing than the $150 off at Best Buy. I'm still torn though...

I wish they had T-Mobile as a part of the carriers for activations. That would definitely sway me to upgrade instead of next year.

Agreed, even though I already have the Xs. I'm curious why Target, Best Buy, etc. don't support T-Mobile activation's.

Walmart is super far from me, but I do have two Targets nearby and I'll try there. If not, I'm perfectly happy with the Best Buy discount :)

They all would get more money from consumers if they would accept T-Mobile for activations. I can only go to Apple & T-Mobile and that’s so not fair.

I have this question as well, for existing ATT customer, can we add iPhones on NEXT on existing lines and get the $400 Walmart gift card?

they used to but Legere pulled all retailers except for costco. which is why t-mobile is so much cheaper than everyone else

What do you mean no deals? Best Buy, Target, Sam's Club, and Walmart all have fantastic gift card/outright price reduction sales!

Unless of course you're a T-Mobile subscriber (or are on some ****** excess capacity outlet MVNO) crying over sour grapes because they're greedy as **** and don't want anyone other then their own corp stores and dealers to make money so they cut off all national retailers! And don't give me that "T-Mobile is cheaper" garbage, we all know all carriers price discriminate (in the economic sense) to the best of their ability and you're delusional if you buy into their "uncarrier" spin or think they're looking out for you! T-Mobile shills are constantly astroturfing and outright rabid on every single site spreading FUD about any other competing carrier...

I noticed that T-Mobile is now doing 36 month device payment plans. I really hope no other carrier follows that. I was a huge fan of T-Mobile but now I feel they’re pushing it a bit.

36 months is absolutely criminal and is only done in oppressive state-sanctioned protectionist monopoly markets like Canada where their feds actually had to come in and ban 3-year contracts because it's killing innovation! And before anyone says no carrier does contracts anymore, *everyone* does contracts, they're just in reverse and called bill credits promos where the credits stop if you leave and the remaining MSRP amount is immediately due (the new way to say ETF)

Just saw Verizon is doing $400 off of the X, no trade-in required.

$300 off the XS with new line (doesn't help me) or $100 off existing line with trade-in.

This isn't helping my internal X vs XS battle...

I saw the promo today. I’m going with the X. I’ll upgrade in 2 years on the next S cycle.
