Slimmer bezels, maybe, but I don't see a larger display coming. To my knowledge, LG only offers the 5K in 27" format and there is no way we're getting the XDR panel nor the LG 32" 8K panel since both cost more than a complete 5K iMac.

I'm not sure if there is such a thing. If this is a custom display panel being made for use by Apple, it might only be available with all the "bells and whistles" and the accompanying high price tag.
Also, even if they could remove a fair bit of those "bells and whistles", the run-rate is probably going to be very low so it would still be a significant price hike from the 5K display which means a significant price hike for an iMac that had it.
16” MacBook Pro update gave me the hope I seek. Better cooling system, navi gpu, narrower bezels and little bit larger display. I wonder if iMac Pro will get update first or it will be perished after Mac Pro release, then a new iMac in March would be nice for my needs.
