I think it's telling how quiet they are about it, they are planning for this to be huge. They don't want to jeopardize this new business by releasing an unready product but I would be surprised if Apple didn't at least show a preview of the iWatch this year.

So if we assume all these hefty iPhone 6 leaks come from the assembly line...
Isn't this really early to start production for a phone that might not come out until September? Or is there a chance this could be pointing to a June release?

I'm afraid this is just wishful thinking, don't get me wrong i would love the iPhone 6 to come out in June at WWDC, makes it easier for me to order before going back to university in September. These "leaks" happen nearly every year, the 5S details leaked this early last year. The one thing we might see at WWDC is the iWatch, but it will probably be like last year, when they announced the Mac Pro where they show it but release it at a later date.

Apple HAS to release the iWatch? I don't think they have to do anything.

Well Cook has told the stock market they'll be entering new product categories this year so it's a given really.

The iPad mini didn't see leaks so Apple are capable of it. But then it probably won't launch until Q4 so I wouldn't expect any leaks yet anyway.

No leaks because maybe the people assembling it don't realize what it is yet, just like the touch ID in the 5S which nobody was actually sure of till Cook announced it at the press conference.

I find it strange that with so many iPhone 6 leaks (albeit unconfirmed), that there hasn't been a single leak of purported mould, or fascia or something.

Makes me think it's not going to happen?

It's either a unicorn or it isn't going to have any factors in it that require major paperwork with the FCC which might leak it and thus they have been able to keep it under wraps better.

At this point I'm inclined to think its a unicorn. Apple has shown in the past that they are more than happy to research something, file patents and then decide that this production costs aren't worth the profit they would make so others can do the heavy lifting while they merely support. Game controllers are a current example. displays could prove to be another (could explain why there has been no revamp to the Cinema displays, they could be on the way out)

Oh it's possible they know what they are building. But they might not be in China where no one cares about confidentiality clauses etc.

If you remember the the first iPad release, there were no leaks for that either. We didn't see anything until the night before the announcement and even then the full device wasn't seen.

I think there aren't any leaks because nobody knows exactly what to look for or where to look.

Probably not in production yet. Prototypes are deep within the mothership under 10 layers of security.

I watch concepts.

In a recent product outline from KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested the iWatch may also be available at several different price points, pointing towards an array of different band and face options in various materials. At the high end, the iWatch could cost as much as several thousand dollars, according to Kuo. I would still buy one!!!

Check out these concepts :)

2 things:

1: it's not in production stage yet, it's still in planning stages.
2. it's not coming out this year. FAIL

I want the iWatch to come out this year tho to compete. I've waited long enough.

You have nothing to back that up. It could very well come out this year.... then again, no one knows if it's even a real project...

iWatch...

My guess is the iWatch WILL be unveiled at WWDC. There are no leaks since Apple maybe finaly HAS doubled down on security and also because production didn't start YET. It will STILL be unveiled at WWDC but will be available for purchase in Fall/Winter. By doing this Apple gives developers enough time to do some App-Work which is what they will need if the iWatch wants to launch with an "App Store". Think about it, they did it with the original iPhone as well!

Also, the "iWatch" won't be called iWatch, but will fall into the "iPod" category. Think in a "iPod Watch" or "iPod Go" or "iPod Wear" direction name wise.

Remember, you heard it here first!

That's what the talk is within the Tikr App. Expected also is iOs8 and iPhone 6

This has been talked about a lot through the iWatch countdown via Tikr app. Alls I know is I want one. I would buy a mid priced range one.

iWatch release date

Or the watches don't take as long to produce.

Yeah, way back in 2008, Steve Wozniak "let slip" to the Telegraph that "Apple's future could lie in an 'iWatch'." And, in April 2013, an Apple board member mentioned the word "watch."

Let alone Skinner and tech radar who has been tweeting via Tikr app in the iWatch countdown is saying sources are confirming an announcment sometime in 2015

IMO iWatch will be announced in June at WWDC.

I speculate absence of leaks because:

1. Made in US, so Apple can keep a tighter relationship with the manufacturers.
2. Intense precautions to prevent leaks because its a brand new product line.

I think it will be announced in June because introducing HealthBook without the watch won't make sense. Plus, introducing iWatch at the same time as iPhone 6 is way too noisy.

My guess is that it has to do with the face that when they start production on iPhones, they have to build millions upon millions that are compatible for dozens of carriers, across multiple production facilities.

An iWatch or iBand would be produced in much smaller quantity and in less facilities.

If Apple releases a wearable, they will wait until the other companies weed out the bugs and complaints. Right now Samsung is doing the dirty work for Apple. I don't think they announce anything until next year.
