No New Mac Pro??

Nope Apple have already said no new Mac Pro's until 2013. iMacs have been rumoured for October.
Past product releases have no relevance to the Mac Pro right now. The opportunity to update their desktops was this Spring, shortly after all the new processors and chipsets were released. They didn't do that and then indicated that a new Mac Pro or something to replace it would come in late 2013 - which is also the current time for the release of the Ivy Bridge-EP Xeon update.
If you want something now then buy a current Mac Pro, older refurbished model and update it, a hackintosh, wait for the incoming Mac updates or switch to a PC.
Nobody knows. There is absolutely 0 clear evidence for anything except a statement that there will be 'something exciting for desktops' sometime next year.
We are 100% in the dark as to whether there will be a new mac pro or other new desktop model, and when that may or may not happen. NO ONE knows anything with regards to this. That's the bottom line.
I finally built a win7 workstation for my work after 18 years of being mac only and couldn't be happier. I just can't live in the dark anymore. But good luck to you whatever you decide to do!

Not really Apple have already stated that iMacs will be updated this year, and there is not much of this year left. So October is quite likely for new iMacs.
I just took delivery of brand new refurbished Mac Pro that is going to run circles around anything I already have. The 6 core 3.33 GHz one with memory running at 1333 MHz. Got if for about 25% off (Canadian refurb store pricing).
Once I add AppleCare I have no more costs for 3 years, and one stop warranty coverage. I figure I can sell my current 2008 octocore for about $1000 locally with the RAM installed. That makes my new MP even that much cheaper. And in 4 years, with any luck, I will be able to sell my now new MP for about $1000 making it ...... ?nearly free ? Naw.... that can't be right....

The "late 2013" isn't correct. The flubbed email message was "late in 2013" . It was rather muddled whether that "late" is relative to the then present June or a reference relative to 2013 itself. As in " The Mac is being worked on and a replacement will arrive late, in 2013."
It is dubious to continue to latch onto that flubbed hint email message since it had to be cleaned up by Apple PR later.

What Apple is saying is that it is coming in the next calendar year. They aren't positioning it within that year at.
Intel's roadmap hints put Ivy Bridge Xeon at Q3 not Q4 2014. Given their recent track record they may announce in Q3 but volumes not show up till Q4 but there is absolutely zero in anything Apple has said, flubbed or otherwise, that they are waiting on Ivy Bridge and planning to skip Sandy Bridge. There is almost no upside in doing that.
Everything at the recent IDF points to Ivy Bridge Xeon arriving some time after the Haswell mobile and then desktops launch over course of Q2.
Ivy Bridge Xeons are sampling now :

The 22nm process should be at very mature point by next May June
(defect density chart at end ) and highly profitable to churn out much larger chips.

The only rational reason for Apple to wait on the Ivy Bridge Xeon E5 is that the rest of the Mac Pro won't be ready till 2H 2013 anyway. Releasing a Sandy Bridge Mac Pro in May 2013 probably wouldn't be worth it. Earlier in 2013 it would. Primarily because the Mac Pro is grossly late. Every additional quarter only digs the hole even deeper. Dig too deep and it becomes a grave.

link already posted by deconstruct60 above. By exception Apple are saying that new iMacs are expected in 2012. Given that Apple are unlikely to release a new product in December, October is likely, and is in line with other rumours.
