Evan Blass has tweeted that a new nexus (or pixel) 7 tablet with 4GB RAM will launch before years end. Hooray!!

That would be awesome. Nougat, maybe QHD display, 4GB RAM, built by Huawei... Would be excellent.

Huawei 7P.

Could be interesting. Part of Pixel? Hm.

Just in time. We're going to cut the cord in a few months...this would be perfect to use as Google Cast server/remote for the family as my plans are to primarily rely on Chromecasts for content. Only thing I really need is wireless charging---relying on my family to plug it in isn't going to happen but dropping it on a charging stand is far more likely. ;)

Me too, it was my first ever tablet and made me realize they're really awesome for movies, browsing, and games in bed or on trips when a laptop is annoying/not portable enough. The build quality was a little iffy on mine, but I would buy a new one for fun.

That's all I'm really looking for. Just something bigger for media for around the house and when travelling. I'm not looking for a laptop replacement.

I really hope they go for top of the line specs, including a QHD display and Snapdragon 820 (or maybe even the 821?).

I'm salivating just thinking about the rom and tweaks possibilities

But my 2013 Nexus 7 is still plenty useful and capable. I still love it. It's so great I haven't had the need to upgrade in all this time. That's why a new one would be so ideal.
