So has anyone found a good leather loop seller either on AliExpress or on eBay?

These seem to be pretty good.
I also ordered one, the Leather loop black for 38mm, since apple doesn't sell it for the 38mm
How long is the Hoco band? I have a 185mm wrist. I want to make sure it will fit my wrist before ordering.I bought the Rock, the Hoco Premium, and the Apple classic buckle strap for comparison.
I didn't consider the Hoco Non-Premium, or other straps with only single-sided color leather.
I didn't consider straps with traditional watch buckles.
I didn't consider straps with bands that were too narrow (less than 22mm), leaving large gaps of exposed lug, allowing the band to move back and forth.
Some people think I'm anal retentive. I think I'm supposed to be offended.
I have a 38mm Apple Watch Sport and my wrist is 6 3/8 inches in circumference.
In my photos, it's always the Rock, Hoco-Premium, and then the Apple strap from left to right or top to bottom.
Verdict? The Hoco is on my wrist, the Rock and Apple straps are being returned. I would definitely get more colors of the Hoco Premium.
The Rock is a thinner, smoother, and more narrow leather band (abt 21mm). It leaves the lugs exposed. Its buckle isn't as shiny as the Hoco Premium or Apple straps.
The Hoco feels and looks almost identical to the Apple strap - except for the space gray lugs that came with it. I'm okay with stainless steel (buckle) and brushed aluminum (sport watch). I didn't want to add a third color (space gray lugs) to the mix. The Hoco Premium is all over eBay, I think my seller just happened to have space gray lugs and eh, that's what I got. Luckily I bought the -Stainless-ADAPTER-Adaptor-Comparable/dp/B00V9P83WW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435882227&sr=8-1&keywords=luvvitt+apple+watch+adapter&tag=mrforums-20" target="_blank" class="link link--external" rel="nofollow ugc noopener">Luvvitt Adapter (purely on the strength of their reputation selling iPhone cases) and switched it out. So my investment is now $26 for the strap + $15 for the lugs.
All three bands are very malleable and feel like leather. The Hoco is just as thick as the Apple strap, but its side finish is not as polished as Apple's. Instead of paying the kids 1/hr like Apple, the Hoco people paid their kids 75 cents/hr - the Rock, about 50 cents/hr. And we all know, you get what you pay for.
For $41 bucks, I got a leather band that is about $125 worth of quality compared to Apple's $149.

Don't know how much you follow this thread but everyone is pretty much hating on SIKAI since they seem to have scammed people quite regularly about their shipping time for the leather loop. Don't think people are looking for more recommendation on them.
Don't worry.
Aliexpress has a buyers protection.
When you do not receive your product, you can let aliexpress know.
When the product is faulty, and the seller does not help you in the right way, you can let aliexpress know, and they solve it for you
For those interested. The
I know that. Have been buying from there since a long time. But I still won't recommend sellers that have a tendency to scam people. Why waste your time and energy and allow these guys to expand their business?
My tip for anyone buying from China: Go look for a smaller seller that actually cares about its customers.
I've been doing that for years and once I had the right feeling on how to pick them it made the whole process much more enjoyable.
Ah yea, well we see how it ends up hahaha
At least they were able to achieve a pretty impressive feedback score with their 98 % percent. Pretty interesting to see that considering they have asked people for additional payments (through PayPal instead of AliPay) in order to get their stuff shipped - weeks later - if at all. Well, no matter what the markets are flooded with these knockoffs now so your chances should be higher. Good luck!
Of course I am not letting me charge more than they should.
So if they do, I let Aliexpress know about it
Their feedback is pretty good indeed.
I also checked out other products from them, and all the buyers seem positive.
Delivery will take a while (Although some buyers said they are very fast), but better than never, since they is no 38mm leather loop from Apple.

Let us know how good they seem to be after you receive them. If you receive them.
Judging from the negative feedback in this thread alone (mine included), I don't understand how they have such high feedback.
I will definitely let you all know about my experiences, and post some pictures of the band!
So far I haven't had any bad experiences with Aliexpress yet, and I have done tons of orders there.
Of course it all depends on the seller, but the people from Aliexpress do help out a lot when something is not going well, so I'm expecting a good experience once again.
We're not knocking Aliexpress, I use them all the time. We're only saying what's happened with this particular seller.
Where did you buy that from? Looks pretty goodGot my clone Milanese Loop. Everything look nicely make just that I find the magnet can be stronger more.

Fake Sportband from ebay (15$)
Cool pics - looks okay for the prize. I would be especially careful with the fake sport bands though. Who knows what plasticizers those little shanzhai factories will use to get the rubber flexible. Especially when doing sports and sweating having contact with those substances can bear a high risk of getting exposed to cancer causing chemicals.
Saving that money is not worth the risk IMO as long as that clone maker has not even a little to loose (like Hoco and Baseus) since it can operate completely anonymous. And let's face it no one even knows for sure where those little factories are operating neither will they be controlled or regulated in any way by local government.
Similar issues apply with leather. Some questions to consider:
- What kind of leather is it? (eg dog vs cow)
- What animal welfare standards, if any, does the hide supplier adhere to?
- Was the leather processed properly by the tannery?
- Is the tannery environmentally responsible? (eg disposal of nasty chemicals)
- Are those who make it paid a fair wage?
- Are those who make it operating under safe working conditions?
- How safe is the finished product? (eg toxins / chemicals that can be absorbed through your skin)
- How long will the colour last?
- If you're not happy with it upon receipt, will the retailer take it back, no questions asked, and give you a full refund? Or will they - for example - refuse to give you anything or blackmail you into giving them a 5 star review?
- If it shows signs of being faulty within a year, how easy will you find it to get it replaced under warranty?
- If it fails completely and causes your Watch to smash on the ground, how will you feel then?
With Apple straps, you can be much more confident about product safety, ethics, environmental standards, the warranty and so on.
Why are some people so keen to risk their own health and their watch's safety and to stick two fingers up at anyone and anything involved in the knock off supply chain?
