Hi guys!

I just fired up my steam for mac app today and got an update installed. After the update it just got me the usual message that i´m no member of the closed beta with my account.

As we all know you can still get into the ui by clicking this link: store.steampowered.com/macbeta/welcome/

After that I saw nothing new, BUT I´m able to install Portal. It´s just donwloading right now.:D:D:D

EDIT: Just saw that I´m able to download TF2 as well.

As I posted in the other thread, you can download Portal but it won't run unless you are in the beta.

Are all those games in the library available for play on Mac?

I have a massive steam account, I am going to explode with happiness if I load the Steam client May 12th and there are a ton of games I can play on my Mac in addition to the ones announced already.

Too bad you won't be able to actually launch the game.

Noticed a bunch more of my PC games being listed as having mac steam versions available to download today, though can't play yet, none of them valve games either.

Guys, think of this as preloading before the Steam launch next monday. Whatever you download right now, you'll be able to avoid the launch crunch since you already have all the files.

I'm downloading HL2 now at 3MBps.

I was able to click install for TF2 and Portal in the Steam Client. Works fine (for downloading), downloading all of them right now.

Braid, killing floor, portal, civ iv, tf2, torchlight and world of goo is everything showing on my list.

Nice, good to know Asypr is getting in on the Steam action. I figured they wouldn't b/c they have their own (bad) download service. Hopefully their other games will follow.

Yeah, that's great news. And they are using Steam Play? I would have never guessed that. This is turning out to be better than I ever thought it would have been, at least on launch :D

A little off topic, but how are you able to have the steam client for mac already ? Unless you are all in the beta, but then I ask why you can't play games... (and also the thread name suggests otherwise :p)
So it's pirated or something ? But isn't that dangerous, won't that get you banned from steam ?

The beta client was leaked. Valve could potentially do something to those that have the client, however I doubt it. If you already own the game, you are able to download the Mac version. Because those that are not members of the beta, their accounts will not launch any titles.

It's not piracy.

When I goto download the portal its giving me a message of failed to open VMware:eek::eek:

I have not read up on this BUT are we supposed to have VMware installed and setup for bootcamp? If so I'd rather reboot into windows and use the steam account through WINBLOWS before having to go and buy VMware. Then again I play games on my MBP maybe once a month if that.
