So the refurbished Note 7 (code name: Note 7R) launch is imminent. Apparently it will be half the price.

I for one am very excited and will definitely snap one up at half price (assuming it comes to the UK). I'm not at all concerned about the battery etc. They've had enough time to find the problem and fix it.

Who else is getting one?

Not me, I loved both of my Note 7's, great phone apart from the battery fires.

The Note 8 (if it's called that) will be my next phone, I don't want to buy an old phone .. a phone which may have been mine originally :)

Then again, if I was given the option to swap my S7 edge for a Note 7, I'd do it but I'm not buying one, half price here is 800NZ.
I can understand why someone would though...

Yeah for me I have an iPhone so this will be a nice addition. For £380ish this will be a hell of a lot of phone for the money. It will also most probably run nougat.

I wonder how many they'll release? Last I heard, there were 2.5m in the wild, there must have been unsold stock too.

I'm glad they refurbished them instead of sending the unrecoverable parts to the landfill :)

I think it ends up in the States tbh because the FCC saw it come through its doors.

I gotta say.... £350... that's cheaper then an imported Note 5. It'll be damn tempting.

http://www.t3.com/news/non-exploding-samsung-galaxy-note-7r-to-be-half-price

If the iPhone 8 ends up being £1000 in the UK, you could get the Note 7 relaunch edition and an iPhone 7 for less!

I'd be tempted given I have a stack of brand new unopened and unused Note 7 accessories in my desk drawer ....

However in all honesty I do not think it will come to UK/Ireland or Western Europe. I would expect Korea, China & India only.

Also that article is hardly official, they don't even get the specs right ....

They should get the specs right as it's T3! But their you go, I guess it depends on how many they made?

Yeah I would consider grabbing one of these. Unfortunately I was born with a defective gene which makes me get highly unsatisfied if I don't have the latest and greatest and forces me to waste money on the newest model. Plus the Note 7 still has that fugly Samsung logo on the front that I despise.

No but seriously, a Note 7 at half price is a TREMENDOUS value. If they sell them in the US (which I highly doubt), I will bet they would sell like hotcakes.

It's because they would sell like hotcakes that I doubt we will see them as they would only canabalose sales from their other more profitable devices for minimal profit margin on the N7r. They wouldn't chance hurting S8 & S8+ or even A5/A7/s7/S7e sales just to sell off refurbished N7r's, it would just be self defeating.

If they do sell them then they certainly won't be at half price and we will be looking at least $550/€550 minimum or greater ....

Yep, fully agree. I also think the US news would go nuts and put a black cloud over a re-release. But I thought I read that they would be about half price, or at least in S Korea where they will initially be released.

I'll never understand why it's Korea only. I would buy one.
Home market. And that China, where returns were likely sent to and fixed, is just across the water. Easier and cheaper to distribute (and recall if there's an Episode 3).

I'll be over that way in July and would be interested for 3,500 RMB if true.

Well you guys are making a lot of sense, unfortunately. The chances of it being sold outside of South Korea and China are slim. Shame really.

No they are old legacy links from when the Note 7 was actually available. You can get various Note 7 results if you just go onto threes own website and search.

They why are they getting my hopes up... hahaha

Reports now indicate it will retail for over $600 when launching in Korea ...

For those who kept holding out for a $350 bargain I can only say, told you so.

No way was that ever going to happen. As I said it would only cannibalise sales of S8/+ and the prospective Note 8.

I would not consider one, even at half price for a few reasons.

1) Not that it is likely to have issues with the battery again, but having dealt with 2 bad units, it still leaves a sour taste with me.

2) The Note 8 will likely be an amazing beast partially to compensate for what happened with the 7 and I would likely have buyer's remorse if I bought the 7.

3) I can't wait for the holy trinity of phones to come out (Apple 10th year, Next Google Pixel and Note 8) one of those will be mine by the end of the quarter!

Note 7 had two strikes with me, not willing to feel buyer's remorse on it.

I thought I read that it would be $700 ? Wayyy too much for last years technology with a tainted name, although I suppose a good alternative to a $1k Note 8 if you really need the stylus. I'm sure there will be plenty of BOGO's and such.
