I wonder how many of these will actually sell baring in mind the price, and the fact in 6-8 weeks time it will be Note 8 time? As much as folks may pine for the N7 after its earlier demise, are they really pining enough to say I simply won't wait till mid August for the N8 launch?

exactly! The timing is just not right. If they had released it earlier then maybe note fans would buy it. But right now with the Note 8 right around the corner, i think most will wait.

I guess they’re relying on most people not knowing the Note release cycle. It makes sense if you think that they’re probably more likely to sell more of them before the Note 8 than after, when people will consider it less. However, you can always argue they may take away sales from the Note 8.

When they’ve done the numbers, the value of the Note 7 parts that could be used if fitted with a new battery was too much to justify writing it off. And less cost efficient to reuse parts in other/future models.

It’ll be interesting to see how big they go marketing wise (I’m note expecting much) and if they cut the price once the Note 8 arrives. Or if they delay the Note 8 a bit in certain markets.

It seems like this phone doesn't really have a space.
