And once again it was stated multiple times that I did research and watched dozens of videos and read countless reviews, all reviews came back saying it was a great performer in games. I challenged you to provide me with a review that said this phone was not a good gaming device after countless accusations that I just blindly bought this phone. One of which you did NOT provide, I can prove LOTS of reviews saying this phones gaming performance was great, and obviously my expectations were not in line with what that meant.

I came here to asks for suggestions from people with more experience on android than myself, I stated what I had tried and asked if there was anything else I was missing

It’s the exact point of having forums, so instead of coming on here to be an ass and try to lecture me over what YOU feel I didn’t do correctly, why don’t you back out of this thread and carry on being a loudmouth teen to someone else. Because all you have been so far in here is disrespectful

Note 8 was returned, thread can die off
And you don't understand my frustration then? You just bought and returned a phone on a whim because it didn't play an old game as well as your iPhone. You ask me to look up a video for you to show that Note 8 has bad gaming performance. I told you that being worse than a phone and platform meant for gaming doesn't make it bad. If you cared that much about gaming then you should have gotten an iPhone. This really does seem like a troll thread. Who buys and returns a phone that quickly over ONE game? Come on.

Voodoo was right. It's a troll thread.

I dont think so.

Perhaps those who have both an iphone and a note can compare performance (its a free game)

Whilst it could be a incompatabilty issue, the note should run it

I'd like to hear more about people's gaming experience with the Note 8 too. I'm also in a situation where I never have time or space really to play on any 'proper' systems, so mobile gaming is rather important to me in my choice of phone.

Anyone out there playing Star Wars Force Arena? It's the best mobile game I've ever played, actually one of the best games I've ever played period.

The Note 8 should be able to do mobile gaming ffs. MC5 doesnt require a cray supercomputer to run. Its a game made for mid tier phones and upwards.

Cant say ive ever noticed myself but do iphones run games this much better?
Probably...

Single core performance is generally a good indicator of gaming performance.

Mines been subpar compared to my 7+ so I generally stick to games similar to Candy crush if that helps. Games crash, freeze and black out a lot on my device. Is it the thing that'll make me return the device? Nope, I just try games till I find one that works ‍♀️

I've played Modern Combat 5 plenty of times. Experienced no choppiness or lag on the Note 8, S8+, or S7 edge. And I would sometimes play with it with my Moga controller while mirroring to my smart TV. I truly don't know what FPS it was running at, but my user experience was smooth and didn't seem different from the experience I had on the 6S+ or 7+.

Now other games like GTA SA have obvious issues on Samsung phones, when set on the same high quality settings as the iPhone.

I had no issues with that game. Although I haven't played it much yet on the Note 8.

Happy this post was able to turn into some more constructive feedback after the bumpy start. Honestly I wish I could have walked away feeling the same for the gaming experience but it just wasn’t the way it played out. Fired up my ip8 + today and played through my games folder and came away greatly impressed.

Still miss the note 8, definitely the most beautiful phone I’ve ever had lol

Yes, full screen.
Wow that's awesome, didn't expect that would work given the dimensions of the playing field.

How is the vertical scrolling when you're dragging units around? Even on the iPhone that has been a known iffy issue where you often have to drag right to the bottom or top of the screen to get it to work - I fear that this would be near impossible with the curved screen.

If you still have the game installed, would you mind posting a screenshot from a match/replay?

Sorry that I'm bombarding you with questions here! But you're the first person I come across who's played SFWA on the Note 8 and I spend so (embarrassingly) much time on this game that it really weighs heavily in my choice of device. I didn't think this title would be possible to play full screen on the Note 8 but if that is indeed the case then I'm ready to turn around and fully embrace that 18:9 screen.

I can't post now, because the servers are on maintenance until 2PST time. But I'll throw you a couple of screenshots later on.

The curved screen has never been an issue for me, as I played this on the S8+ as well.

Ah of course lol, I forgot that it was the server maintenance that drove me to the forums in the first place :p Anyway that's great to hear about the curves. Would be great to see those screenshots later on thanks, really appreciate it! Hopefully this time they won't take three hours longer than expected to complete the update...

No, that's how the game is by default, even the intro screen. I didn't have to zoom in with any quick toggles.

Here's a quick record.

Ah, I think it looks zoomed in because it's in the introduction mode. But in general it looks great with that wide view. Mmmhhhh getting tempted for the Note 8 again :p

The stutters are just in the actual video recording right?

Thanks again, this is really giving me valuable info!

I don't see any stutters in the video on my end. Maybe try lowering video quality, I know I get stutters on my older PCs when I play Youtube at 50-60fps setting. The game play itself is smooth.
