If there is anything you know of and can sum up let us know.
Either way I may order an X.
Played around with one and there is not much a difference from my 6s I had looks the and feels the same. I know their are hardware and software differences but it did feel very familiar. Seems the simplicity is still there.

The Biggest differences with the iPhone X is gesture controls without the use of the home button. I always say that hardware is superficial and eventually wears off where you won’t notice it anymore and you adjust to the new form factor. Also the other big consideration is touch ID over Face ID. So if you can adjust to gesture controls and Face ID, the iPhone X is a fairly unique experience on its own.

I agree. Just miss some of the features of iphone. I think I may try & get over it and avoid the loss in money.... may try and find a nice android watch to go along with the phone. I am undecided. I may still try the X out though.

You’re likely wasting your time with an android watch with the iPhone, because of of its limited capabilities. I’m not sure if you have used an Apple Watch, which I believe you have from past posts I have read from you on Apple Watch forum, but that would probably be the better choice if you want to maximize its features.

No Apple products with apple and Android with android.

So I have a Note 8 after having the 6s for two years.
It is an excellent device. My only downside is the size and way too many settings to finagle with. (It is like it has too much going on).

I orders a X and I have been playing with that for a bit over a week. I do like the smaller form factor and Apple Music, Apple Watch compatibility, but this is an expensive phone and yes it is simple which is good but the it still reminds me of my 6s minus the home button.

Should I stick with the Note 8 or see if I will enjoy the X?
[doublepost=1523579497][/doublepost]Oh and a Side Note: I hate that this phone takes forever to charge that slow charge is horrible.
Samsung defiantly stands out there.
[doublepost=1523579842][/doublepost]I will probably pick up an Apple Watch and ear pods.
Apple makes you spend some money.
Even though there are some great android watches out there with bigger faces.
Makes that square face 42mm seem tiny.

I’d say it depends on how long you’ll keep it. If 2 or more years, go for the x. If you’re going to get a new phone next year, then go with either. Note 8 is a great phone.

It is but I just think I am not using the size or the pen. It is a bigger device than what I need.
Plus I am not a fan of key board and some of the device quirks. I also want to use an Apple Watch and Ear Pods.
Guess I could be getting wrapped up in Apple again.

I would probably stick with Samsung if the S9 had a dual camera it has the exact same form factor as the X but no dual camera.
[doublepost=1523583645][/doublepost]Plus the portriat photos come out amazing on the X.
There are things I dislike about both but I want air pods and the watch and the X is easy to use, no system files to mess with just seems like and easier device.

That's probably the test right there and in my opinion is one of the differences between an Android person and an Apple person.

The Apple person sees too many settings. The Android person sees multiple choices.

I don’t know if I’d pay $1000 at this point for an X. It’s damn near mid way through it’s life cycle which means you’re about half way to the next iPhone.... a refined, better version of the X most likely for the same price! Something to think about...

if your going with android, then why not try the pixel 2. It has a way better camera and stock Android.

No not a fan. No wireless charging even.

If you are having doubts, that is a red flag to do something different. Get a phone you will be happy with.

That is exactly why I took advantage of the 14 day trial.

This. Not like that makes a huge difference just need a solid good working phone I will be happy with.
Heck they are even making another apple watch. It is impossible to keep up.

This is true. So many settings and features I do no need. Overlaod although it is nice to have.

I know in my life at least- when I reflect back, my gut instincts about whatever, were always right. My first impressions were always accurate. The times I ran into trouble was when I ignored them. If you have serious doubts about anything, then it's likely a bad choice. You'll know when something fits. You'll see it (or examine it a bit) and if it's right, you'll KNOW it's what you want. You won't have ANY doubts. But maybe that wisdom comes a little later in life.

Good point. I also would not pay full price for the iPhone X at this point. Not saying it’s not a good phone or worth the price of the phone itself, but given that the next iPhone is approximately five months away, I would wait if given the opportunity.

I wouldn't buy new now either, i would buy the X though for the right price which is not hard to find, i just got my wife a 8 plus 256gb 10 days old for $809, $670 less than Apple retail here, not a mark on it, same guy had a note 8 bought that too to try out, then sold it for $210 profit. Sold her 6S plus for $500 so the 8 plus cost $99. Both were on ebay.

they put advertisement on the games

Adverts on mobile platforms do not make any money for developers. It’s more of a thing to annoy users in the hope that they will opt for the ad free version. Which is at least something.

Unless a game have millions of users. Adverts is not a viable source of income at all.

Or the other way to look at it is, iPhone users pay and sustain the developers so that the games can then be offered for free to android users... :)

@Dodgeman Is it really worth the expense switching to a phone that's mid-way through its lifecycle and will be dumped off for much cheaper when the new models come out?

LOL so you got the iPhone X because it has 2 cameras and is smaller? Well, more power to you I guess.

And there are Note users that hang on to their Note 4/5 and don't feel left behind
Preach it! Never letting my Note 4 die!

I mean, there will always be a wait for something with something newer and better coming down the pipeline.
[doublepost=1523634435][/doublepost]It is a tough position that is for sure.
I like a handful if things about my iphone there and there are some things I hate. Same goes for the Samsung.

But one wait can be considered about 5 months and the other waiting periods (iPhone 2019, iPhone 2025, etc) are even longer. I would just go iPhone 2018 w/ the device that fits your needs, wants, and budget. Once you have that (LCD, OLED, OLED + sized phone), then you're set for at least 2-3 years.
