iOS 15 was a massive letdown, it should've been a 14.8 release.

Several big updates expected to be in iOS 15 per a lot of the big name YouTuber's are not coming whatsoever;

- AoD ( Always on Display ). come on Apple this is an important feature we'd like to get on iPhone's.

- Notification revamp so not so cluttered

- Lockscreen revised and updated, adding weather to Lockscreen, etc...

- Revised Settings menu

- Brand new Control Center

- Darker dark mode, meaning even icons and stuff would go dark as well.

- Themes and icon packs officially supported and baked into stock iOS 15. Because last year with iOS 14 and the Shortcuts app allowing some customization that was never available on a non JB iPhone before, people expected Apple to realize it was a fan favorite and much welcomed feature to be able to do icon packs and stuff, so lots expected Apple to take notice and go with it, making it a stock feature that they could have developers charge money for and Apple wouid make coin too. Kinda surprised Apple wouldn't welcome themes or what is available to.do right now in iOS 14 but make it work without needing Shortcuts app at least.

Main thing disappointed me about iOS 15 was no interactive widgets, hoped for apps to be placed anywhere, more than 2 apps side by side on iPad and I really wanted spilt screen for iPhone…have no idea why it still doesn’t have this

100% and multitasking improvements but seeing what epic and apple are going through in court we'll never get my h 3rd freedom in ios.

Yeah u light just sell everything I'm tired of it honestly. Good hardware but lacking in software big time.

I think next year Apple will implement interactive widgets or perhaps in 2 years. They finally gave iPad users freely-to-move across the screen widgets... they might revisit interactive later.

But apps placed anywhere or SplitView apps... I don't think those are in the cards for iPhones. Apps placed anywhere seems obvious, but if they haven't done that already.. I don't think they care to do so. And SplitView apps doesn't seem practical on small devices.

I know you are looking in the lens of your 12PM, but you gotta take into account that perhaps the feature will be enabled for smaller sized phones too.

I have said it elsewhere but I can’t help but feel apple don’t see iPhones as multitasking devices and that should be done on iPads and macs. That said they allowed PIP on iPhones so maybe it will come down the line.

Which Android 12 features that excite you? Do share!

And no, there will be no Windows 11. Microsoft already stated that Windows 10 is the last version of Windows.

Wait, so why does everyone keep talking about iOS 15 in a thread about how Android 12 is more exciting? :( Shouldn't we be talking about which part of Android 12 is exciting?

Personally I like the new aesthetic and how the theming is being integrated into the entire UI. But the biggest thing for me is the new privacy dashboard. That's somewhere Android has needed to catch-up for a long time. Too bad when it comes to privacy more people are worried about what Google is accessing than they are what 3rd party apps are.

The privacy dashboard is surely long awaited, and hopefully Google doesn't provide loopholes for nefarious developers. ?

this is just excusing Apple though.

Apple can add a lot of features to match parity and not take away from the experiences of those who just need an ipod with phone capability.

yes they exist as users. But so do users who want more advanced functionality out of iOS. Better handling of notifications. Better task multi-tasking in places, and tweaks and fixes to usability stuff Apple tried implementing over the ayears that don't necessary make the most sense today

Can anyone explain to me why Apple still thinks tapping a missed call notification should immediately dial the number? Instead of taking you to the call history or dialer to press dial. it just straight up dials them

Before comeing to iphone, I never understood why my friends with iPhones still butdialed people. Now I do. Apple's notifications and how they interact with you is horrendous and needs a massive rework.

Sometimes repetition is more important than enhancement. Some people like the familiar way of doing things instead of relearning a new although better way.

I’m disappointed in the lackluster iOS 15 reveal, because both iOS 13 and 14 brought some nice new features and updates, with Dark mode, Widgets on Home Screen, set default apps, the incoming Phone call not hijacking the screen anymore but comes in as a notification banner, etc… and a bunch of things I thought iOS very much needed, and it’s great that they were finally added.

I was hoping iOS 15 would continue that, adding more new features, per a lot of the rumors that seemed plausible not far fetched stuff. But they added 0, nothing. So I’m a little bummed, and confused why Apple moves at a snails pace in adding new features.
