Cool, what spec cpu ram etc did you get? I quite like the Dell Optiplex 7090 series that fits into the monitor stand. Been supplying a few of these with the dell 27” video conferencing monitor. Very tidy bit of kit.

I would never personally walk away from Apple as I work with windows clients and servers day in day out but I see the advantages though none anywhere good enough to pull me across,

Not the way I would have gone but at least you have cash to play with. Which antivirus are you going with? McAfee is as good as a chocolate fireguard, I recommend ESET you can get the home version which covers multiple devices. What about software? Do you use office etc or any productivity software?

That's not a spec, that's letters and numbers jumbled together.

So you went from a Mac to a refurbished £450 laptop that looks like the old Apple plastic MacBook and a refurbished 24” All in one £528 which has a footprint wider than itself. Main thing disappointed me about iOS 15 was no interactive widgets, hoped for apps to be placed anywhere, more than 2 apps side by side on iPad and I really wanted spilt screen for iPhone…have no idea why it still doesn’t have this
Yeah not having split screen is really disappointing. I will also grumble about lack of Apple Pencil support if it doesn’t materialise with the 13 pro max.

Good call. The inspiron is a great lineup. I am typing this on my 5406 2 in 1 and I love it better than any mac I have owned. All aluminum build, upgradeable internals, touchscreen with pen support, and it's FAST. Right now, I have 64gb of ram and a 4tb SSD installed for on location editing creating and more. I also have an XPS 8940 workstation in my office with 4tb SSD, 14tb HDD, 512ssd and 1tb ssd (both for resolve editing), 128gb of ram and 2 24 inch dell ultrasharp monitors with one being touch.

I have to wait until my telus contract is up before going to GBS telus again to get whatever new samsung has pen support at the time. But all our apple stuff is out the door too.

has you all now i sold my iphone 12 pro max for the samsung S21 pluse and i sold all my other apple stuff i now have the new all in one 2021 dell desktop PC and all new 2021 dell laptop
I also sold my iPhone 12 pro max for one reason and one reason only, anywhere upto a dozen times a day I had to switch the iPhone off then on again to get it to connect to the network or speed up data transfer, I noticed this a lot as I use my phone mainly as a hotspot to stream movies on my laptop but to often there was a lot of buffering or complete failure of connection, with the Samsung S21+ no such issues it'll happily stat connected to the network the full 12 hours I'm at work with no interruptions, I wouldn't say the signal between the iPhone and Samsung is better on one than the other but holding onto a signal is definitely superior in the Samsung in my experience. Another slight issue was no was to drive iPhone to use the 3g network, to give an example 4g in my area is naff and iPhone will persevere and try provide me a service on 4g, since I got the Samsung I can switch between 3g and 4g and to put things into perspective one evening my phone went slow so I checked the SIM card status......on 4g it was -118 dBm changing to 3g the dBm was -81 so fit that reason and the aforementioned problems staying fully on the network I changed to Samsung and I can't fault it.

I am in a similar state--iPhone 6S to Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Galaxy Watch, and HP laptop running Windows 11 Insider. I can do far more from 'Your Phone' than I ever could with my Mac re:Continuity/handoff. Including running Android apps from the phone on the PC if I desired.

Also still get 32-bit support which means all my favorite old apps and games remain working.

Now if only there were a decent replacement for the Apple TVs in my home. I still want to access purchased content on the ATV app, as well as Paramount+ which is linked to my Apple ID, but Android TV boxes don't support it, and Paramount+ on it denies my login info.

Also, Android TV set-top boxes are notoriously unrealiable, disconnect often, and buffer constantly or randomly go to what looks like 144p. Rokus don't give me a way to disable unwanted updates, and lag a ton on some apps/services. I also don't want to buy new smart TVs to get the needed apps/services, and Fire Sticks really suck so I'm still stuck with my ATVs.

I can actually use the ATV app on my PlayStation 4 and O.G. Xbox One, but using a game controller is not a great means of controlling TV.

There's nothing wrong with the Apple TVs except despite my blocking every update server at the router, they still pop-up a nag screen every time I wake them or pause video telling me to update now. I HATE being told to do something I don't believe in. It isn't broken, so I have no need to update it. Been there before, Apple with iOS 7. Never again. Still on the lookout for a device that just streams content from the necessary apps without telling me to update, or being totally unstable. Just let me wake it up, click the show and watch. No nags, no interruptions, no undesired app UI change.

Why not get a Roku? It has all the services, including Apple TV.
