You've made it really clear that for whatever reason you don't like nVidia; I'm just curious why you keep reminding everyone every chance you get.

It's horrible to see the same threads same discussions and same answers monthly for years. Thank goodness I sold the cMP and don't need to do this silly hacks and card swapping gimmicks with every OS update just so I can stay on the Nvidia perpetual beta driver program.

Yes, thank goodness. But, I guess you haven't read the posts because it's not necessary to do card "swapping gimmicks". My wish, unless you have something positive to contribute please spend your time elsewhere!

Right, because it's really easy to use a high-end AMD card too, right? Vega or a Fury X are both plug-and-play, right?

Well I hope some one can help me... I have an iMac 2011 that I installed a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M 8191 MB in.
All was well until I did the 10.12.25 update, I remote-ed into my iMac from my MacBook Pro. Then updated the Nvidia software and drivers. But still just a black screen, I then tried removing the web driver and reinstalling, all that did is get the right build # 16F73 in the info.plist file. However still no joy... If anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful.

It has been about a month since anyone has posted here, but I have a similar problem except I am trying to get Nvidia drivers g 10.12.6 on a hackintosh.
Mobo: GIGABYTE AORUS GA-Z270X-Gaming K7 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z270
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz
Graphics: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080 TI

Does the Nvidea 10.12.5 version dirver work with 10.12.6 or 10.13 ?

^^^^No, not without a hack. Nvidia Web Drivers are written specifically for each Mac OS and point OS release. Nvidia used to write the drivers for Beta releases, but they stopped doing that. When a new OS release appears, Nvidia usually updates the Web Driver within 24hrs.

Hi there, I'm new into this thing of NVIDIA GPU's. I'm trying to update my MacPro 5,1 (mid 2010). I already installed the drives (MacOS 10.12.6) and after reboot I choose the NVIDIA Web Driver option, turned off the computer, installed the new GPU, plug everything back up and restarted the computer. Now the screen is all black and it shows in about this Mac it says the GPU is only 256MB. What did I do wrong?

Thanx

^^^^I'm running an MVC flashed Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1080 with the Web Driver I linked above.

So... its just install driver, follow the instructions on screen, plug'n'play?

^^^^Yes, but you won't have a boot screen, since no Mac EFI on the card. BTW, the link referenced above by Asgorath is a good one. I suggest you familiarize yourself with it.

And I just noticed I answered your question before you asked it in my post #31.
