im torn. After Open Core, my drives have been benchmarking faster maybe because trim is enabled. I have an SSD on SataIII now I'm wondering if I should move my Os to NVME.... will it be hard to clone with open core if I did decide to move to NVME boot, or are the gains in speed not worth it for operating system tasks

I would say no, if it’s just web/mail etc.
nvme comes into it’s own for large video/audio files.

I want to install Catalina on my 4,1 (now 5,1) using open core. I have a extra ssd that I can boot from, but I also have an internal raid (soft raid) would booting be slower if I install the SSD into the DVD sata vs the regular drive sled port? I do not do video.
