Sorry to break it to you... but you weren't an first/early adopter. You were a bit of a Johnny-Come-Lately!!

Those of us in the UK who got our iPhones and signed up in November 2007 were the early adopters.. or those imported them from the USA in summer 2007 if you wanted to be really keen!

There was life before 3G!! - OS 1.0.0 anyone!

:p
:apple:

Thanks for the reminder, i was there day one on a cold and wet November evening, in a queue for the original iphone. I just meant early 3g adopter, thus getting the rough end of the 3g stick from o2 when the 3Gs was released, and the poor 3g coverage across much of the UK at the time.

To narrow the discussion down, i would welcome a move away from o2. 3g coverage in my area is poor. Both Vodafone, and Orange appear to offer better coverage, but need to check this out more myself.

Based on the information supplied, i am leaning towards rolling on the contract i have, as i looking for a 6 month fix rather than long term fix. This is in prep. for a new model, as i figure i will then be getting a 2 rev hardware upgrade which should be sufficient to warrant the investment.

To roll on the contract do i need to speak to o2 "customer care." No pun intended.

Cheers everyone who has piped in, in this discussion. I guess this will be a much talked issue leading upto Jan 10.

£20/month... 1 month contract.

* 600 UK minutes and 1200 UK texts each month
* 'Unlimited' internet (select the bolt on)
* Free voicemail

That's what I went for.

This is exactly what I'm going to do when mine runs out on 9th. Then will use simplicity until the next iphone comes out. Might even stay on simplicity and buy the phone pay&go. Simplicity prices per month are pretty hard to argue with.
