I'll stick with my Apple Watch Series 6 as long as it communicates with my updated iPhone.

Looks nice. Based on my old series 3 my family used till last year - should last a long time.

I envy those of you getting a lot of use out of your products. My wife and I get too tempted to update every other year. 🙂

Good looking watch!

I am keeping my Series 7 (which is running fine) until late 2027 and will decide then, if Series 12 (probably better processor) or Series 13 (probably new design) is the better choice for me.
With the only last brushed tatty models available of that series, if I had one too I wouldn’t upgrade. My ex Apple employee friend is still keeping his Apple Watch Series 7 edition too!

These things run forever - have excellent time keeping abilities - and work really well with an iPhone. Watch OS has always been more about hardware than software. Despite owning an AWU3 I am not looking at anything in Watch OS 27 with anticipation - other than maybe better battery life.

These fine outstanding Macrumors forum members give me motivation to keep this watch a lot longer than I was planning on (I kept my AWU2 for 2 years).

If the Apple Watch 3 my family was using up till last year (and it died, it didn't stop communicating) - these things are going to last a long long time.

Still rocking the SE 2 here. It works but I want to try some of the new features (blood pressure and apnea detection). But I need a new phone before a watch, so we'll see how long it'll hold on even after its "death" come watchOS 27.

I have had my AWU2 since the September 2023 launch and have been pleased with it. At first I was bummed that the Blood O2 app was inhibited due to patent disputes. Then Apple had a workaround where you could get the data from your iPhone when the Apple watch was paired to it. Still a pain but was a workaround until I discovered the O2 Buddy app that allowed me to see my Blood O2 readings on my AWU2. I was happy again.

For now my AWU2 does everything I need an Apple watch for . . . monitoring my health. As new watches come out I realize Apple’s marketing and hype for their newer watches begin to convince people they need the newest tech and the famous “FOMO” feelings begin creeping in even though the device they are currently using is doing everything they need that device for.

I admit I’m approaching this as my watch will be approaching three years of use however my battery health is at 90% and I am not seeing any degradation of performance on my watch. I’m still pleased with how my watch continues to do everything I need an Apple watch for, including taking or making phone calls. I still think this is a cool feature of the Apple watch so with that said, I have a wait and see approach at this time waiting to see whether or not it will be worth my upgrading to the AWU4 depending on what features and updated tech it will have when it comes out this September.

If I decide it’s not time, I know I will still be happy using my AWU2.

You actually won't be missing out on much.

I am using the S10 watch, but still have my S5 watch, which I take out to use on occasion (my S10 would be in the Apple Store numerous times last year due to paint chipping issues). Apart from a degraded battery (76% health) and a slightly smaller screen, it still did all the same stuff (notifications, Apple Pay, health tracking, music controls, basic apps).

Until the battery no longer suffices to see you through a day, it will still be good for the next couple of years.
