Success - Exchange on Outlook 2011 works after update to beta version 6

I guess it worked for everyone else on earlier versions - not sure why mine did not work - I did not change any settings.

It just started working after the update.

Have you tried Outlook 2011 on the GM candidate? It's the first El Capitan I've installed and Outlook 2011 just hangs and dies for me.

Just a small note here, since my last post the 2011 MS Office suite has been updated to V 14.5.5. Outlook is still working fine for me on the GM and Outlook V 14.5.5.

No luck with Outlook here... it hangs trying to sync with the Exchange server.

I have updated to 14.5.5 as well and I am on the GM, but Outlook still continues to hang.

Have not tried the GM - I am hoping they continue the El CAP beta and will wait and stay on the beta - version (15A278b) and outlook 14.5.5 (version 150821)

Outlook does crash once in a while - seems to happen when I boot up or restart. I never used to shut down my computer but since I upgraded to el cap it takes less than 14 seconds to start up, login and start outlook - that is "way cool".

I thought my outlook problems were gone but they still happen - less frequently - I have to say despite the crashes I have not lost one email - even long emails that I was ready to send and then the spinning wheel shows up and I force quit and restart outlook - everything is still there.

I think the crashes are related to the exchange account sync, because when I turn off the exchange account outlook does not seem to crash - as much.

Some times after starting up - I have to restart outlook a few times - but once it starts working it works for hours with out a crash.

I know that does not sound great - but it works for me - too many cool things I about El Cap to go back to Yosemite.

If not for exchange I would switch to Thunderbird - which I installed at the first install of el cap beta and it has worked flawlessly and still does for all my IMAP email accounts - just not the exchange Micrs$#Ft account.

I can't wait to get off the outlook bandwagon, but unfortunately apple mail is even worse.

Still have issues with outlook 2011 on the GM. Right now I am running using the Windows version of Outlook 2013 through Parallels. Works great on my MacBook Pro but slows to a crawl on my Macbook 12-inch. Hope they get this fixed!!!

I expect Apple and/or Microsoft to address the issues with Outlook 2011 shortly after El Capitan's release, if not sooner. Hopefully, getting this to work won't require Exchange server changes, because that will take longer in some organizations.

I have no desire to go from Office 2011 to 2016. But if, for some reason, Outlook 2011's problems with 10.11 aren't addressed soon, I wonder if Outlook 2016 works properly? If so, would it be possible to run Outlook 2016 side by side with the rest of the Office 2011 suite?

I am running Office 2016 side by side with Office 2011. However, Outlook 2016 requires Exchange 2010 SP1 or later, and my org is stuck on Exchange 2007. So using Outlook 2016 is not an option for me.
