it took me lot's of updates

I am experiencing the same problem with Office 2004 -every application results in this error: "shared library error CarbonLib CFMPriv_QD".
I have done the following:
1. re-uploaded 10.3.9 combo update from Apple
2. repair disk through disk utility (it repaired one HFS volume and said 1 BitMAp still needs minir repair)
3. repair disk permission through disk utility
4. Unsuccessfully uploaded Office 2004 11.3.5 and the new 11.3.6 (I see on my system that 11.3.5 was uploaded in April. I get a similar error but it reads "shared library error BaseInstaller CarbonLib CFMPriv_QD
I am at a loss, any ideas?

;)I was not able to load neither immediatly. I loaded 3 different combo types. Not being super computer savy, had no idea which one. I needed the smallest one since I need more memory. Once I found the correct Mac update I had issues loading Microsoft. The problem seemed to be that even though I had gotten many Microsoft weekly updates, NONE were included or worked. Perhaps because of the Apple issue, never will know., SO I updated (can't remember exactly) TWO BEFORE 11.3.5, then 11.36 worked. Took forever and once I got them mixed up.

It's all a mystery. GEE I am so glad you posted, I was feeling quite perplexed!

I have been using Office 2004 without problem using the 11.3.5 update since April. Just yesterday all Office 2004 programs (most importantly, Entourage) failed to start - I keep getting the error "shared library error CarbonLib". But when I tried to reinstall 11.3.5 and the new 11.3.6, I get the slightly different error of "shared library error BaseInstaller CarbonLib".
I think the only thing I haven't tried is Archive and Install.

I had problems since the June Itunes/Quicktime update. Microsoft told me it was because it was 'incomplete", Odd I dont usually trust them, but Apple was very unhelpful. I have 10.4.10, so i was suprised I was not able to update the correct one.
