hi everybody! bought my first mac a couple weeks ago after messing around with pc's for pretty much my whole life. i was really into pc gaming for the most part which is why i always had a windows machine, but constantly updating your hardware to play the latest and greatest got annoying. before i usually ran linux on my non-gaming, everyday use machines, but now i have a sleek macbook pro to replace them all. still have a nice powerful windows machine for when i want to game though.:D

helloz people, I am newz. to start off, i bought my first mac last year around in november, and havent used the apple half of my partition that much, since i use vista on the other side soley. to be honest, i dont use my mac side that much since i dont have pirated software/applications for the os, so i pimp vista now. yeah, that's not what you want to hear, but why would i lie? i like apple os cool ok, but i can't right click and that is a big annoyance for me. now, believe it or not, i would bet big bucks that i used a mac a long time before most of you, since i was playing with macs when most here were in diapers. however, i still can't get adjusted with most of it but have been set in my old ways. can i break out of it, or should i? give me five reasons and/or benefits to break out of the mold. thanks for the opportunity to break ice and give an openner...:apple::apple::apple::apple:

I've been lurking on MacRumors and a bunch of other Apple fan sites for 2 years. Finally, I've taking the plunge and posted some comments. I'm new to Macs as of 2006 and now my household has several Apple products. I am just waiting for the new MBs and MBPs so I can treat myself!

I wish I had a longer history with Apple products. I started out programming on a PDP-11, then a VAX, and then on to DOS/Windows. I never had ANY personal exposure to Macs. My business is now 100% Windows, although as one of the owners, I am working to change that. Unfortunately, so much of the software we need is Windows-only, and virtualization is not a solution - it's just a work-around. We need more Mac-Windows parity in applications!!!!!

Hi! I've been browsing the forums ever since the iPhone came out. I finally got one in Feb 2008, and I love it! I don't have any intentions on upgrading to 3G at this time.

I'm learning a lot from the posters here, and I look forward to continuing to learn lots of new stuff.

Hello everyone!

It is great to be here! I've been browsing mac forums for a while now to inform my first mac purchase. I just bought a last gen. MBP 15.4" Glossy, 2.5 Ghz, 2GB Ram, 250GB 5400, etc. I'm super excited! I've wanted a mac for a couple years now and finally am making the switch. :)

I can't wait for it to come in the mail!

Saying hello to MT Forums!

Hey there!

I've just registered after reading about a long time regularly in this forums and the front page!

I live in Germany, but I'm italian - was a good choice to make summer holidays in Italy and buy a free iPhone 3G! :D

What else about me... I am 23 years old and female (if that is important to mention ;)

Ok then... hope to read you soon and virtually meet over here!

C ya - RED™ :)

I'm new as of an hour ago and I cant seem to start a new thread/ question so I guess this is a good space:

I have an issue with iphoto.

I unfortunately moved photos within Finder, the result being black thumbnails in iphoto. I change the source file in Preferences with no change.

I have downloaded photos files all over the place in Finder and need to consolidate.

You should be able to just drag and drop the photos you want into iPhoto.

Old Mac User, New Mac Problem

I just joined this community because it seems to have the most capable respondents thus far, and I appreciate the vastness of intelligence on here.

hello

I am a new mac user, just registered today and come in to say hello to your forks! :apple:

Hey people!

Sorry if this is in the wrong board, I couldn't see an introductions board!

Well hallo thar, I just got ripped off buying a Sawtooth PowerMac G4. I dodn't know how much it was worth, but at £150, I thought it was a good deal.

so how are you?

Oh hey a new member thread. Neat.

My name's Dan and I'm a designer. Lately I've been designing and sometimes making furniture, but I'm an industrial designer at heart. I have a late Macbook Pro and I used to be a mechanic. In this economic weather, who knows what I'll be doing tomorrow. I'm a newly minted Mac enthusiast, a convert after catastrophic PC multiple component failure on my BYO that I'd been using for the last four years, late summer 2007. QOS at Best Buy and the like drove me away, and a friend at the Apple store showed me the way.

Herro.

I'm Dom. I'm a college student from West Sussex, UK and in a matter of days I'll be making the much glamorized jump to the mac. I'm studying English Language and Literature along with Media Studies and hope to go on to become an English specialist Upper Primary/Lower Secondary teacher. I hold a black belt in Wado Ryu Karate and I'm working as an instructor in primary schools around my home town.

After months of lurking and reading, I finally signed up yesterday.

My name's John. Up until two or three years ago I could have been on the Microsoft 'I'm a PC' ad - I was freakin' evangelical about the things. Then I got an iPod. Then I started working in a Mac-based office. Then a year ago, I got me a MacBook Pro. I've never looked back.

Seems like this is a fun forum, and one of the friendliest I've been around. I'll try not to lower the tone of the place. :D

And I'll post a bit in the 'Post your setup!' 'Post what your wearing!' 'Post your last shopping!' threads over the next few days by way of a more personal introduction.

Just thought I'd introduce myself.

Hi there everyone, couldn't find an appropriate forum category for this so I chose the community discussion. I just wanted to say hello, I'm a mac enthusiast and I've used a macbook for a year or so now before finally moving to a 20' iMac. I got my iMac a week ago and I'm now officially a mac user.

I also own a blog which I get helped on by another two friends, the blogs about all things Apple and it's quite noobish at the moment. We're hoping to expand it in the upcoming months and provide the best news available :) Umm, I don't know what else to write but umm Hello :)

New MBP Owner/Member

Just wanted to say hello and thank you for being here. I converted to Macism last year with the purchase of my shiny white macbook and recently upgraded to the new MacBook Pro. Because of my upgrade my wife is now a Mac user too (with my perfectly good hand-me-down). We're also both iphone users. I can't wait to dig in and see what I can find here.

Go Ravens! :D
