Probably because all the abilities unlocked via jailbreak.

1) Emulators (w/ BT controller) - Turns your iPhone into a portable gaming system.
2) Adblocker - Ads suck, this blocks them all (even in apps outside of safari)
3) NCSettings - Quick notification center controls just a swipe away instead of wasting time in settings.
4) Springtomize - Hides apps you don't want, changes apps shape, hides dock, shows amount of ram memory in the status bar, increases folder size, etc. basically the best way to visually tweak your iPhone the way you want it.
5) Zephyr - intuitive gesture controls, the way all smartphones should be.
6) KillBackground - kill all background apps with the touch of a small button in your switcher instead of having to hold down for wiggle mode and close them one by one
7) Spotlock - Spotlight is useless to me, so this lets me lock my phone with a simple swipe o what used to be the spotlight screen
8) Activator - set it to unlock phone by short hold of home or power button so I don't have to reach back down to slide to unlock.

I love it because of

1. Winterboard Themes
2. Whatsapp on iPod touch
3. NC Settings
4. iFile
5. Bridge
6. Chrome Download Manager

Hard to think of life without it!! LOL

If someone told me that I could jailbreak for one tweak and one tweak only I would do it just to get f.lux.

Everything else is icing on the cake.

Three words

FREE LTE TETHER

WiMi had to be one of the best apps ever made.

There is a better app for that called SwipeAway. It does the same thing but instead of having to press a button to close the apps, you just swipe up from the app switcher and it closes all apps. It works great.

FYI springtomize has the option to disable spotlight. No need for SpotLock.

Springtomize also has the option to start the app switcher in editing mode. You could also remove KillBackground and just always have your apps start in editing mode so you can quickly kill them. That's what I do. I also disable wiggle mode to prevent any possible stuttering since I also use zephyr. Disabling wiggle mode makes the transition much smoother more often.

"If someone told me that I could jailbreak for one tweak and one tweak only I would do it just to get" - you may laugh but I would go for IconRenamer. It is horrible to see appnames which are too long. An aesthetic wash-out.

I feel like a completely idiot asking this, but does WiMi not just use your data anyways?

When they say free, they are referring to the fact that they don't have to pay their carrier extra to tether.

Why is F.lux such a big deal for some? Never used this tweak before.
Because it reduces eye strain. All monitors, including LCD screens on iPhones produce blue light. That's fine during the day because that's what the sun puts out. But blue light is diminished at night. f.lux reduces the blue light output of your monitor or screen as the day wanes. This reduces eye strain which can reduce headaches (fizz7283 uses this tweak on his iPhone because it has eliminated his migraines due to eye strain) and helps you fall asleep faster when you go to bed.

Additionally, because f.lux does what it does, you can turn your screen on at night and not be blinded.

f.lux is one of those very subtle tweaks that you don't start to get until you use it. Install it, use it for a while. Some people don't care for it (it counters blue light by making the display warmer which brings on a slight orange tint), but it does make a difference. The orange tint may seem wierd at first, but after a short while it becomes natural.

Note that if you install it during the day in your geographic location you won't see any difference. You may not think it's working. Wait until night. That's when the function of the tweak actually becomes clear.

Great list!

Love number 8...I never thought to do that (short hold to unlock). I agree that SpotLock is a great tweak.

Question, if you already use SpotLock and Activator, what added functionality does Zephyr give (how do you use Zephyr)?

I've already mentioned it in a few other threads, but before I used f.flux I was getting terrible migraines everyday from using my phone at night because the blue light was so harsh on my eyes. After using f.lux I no longer get migraines from using my phone.

So that's why it's a big deal for me.

Give it a shot. It's an amazing tweak. And it's free.

I completely agree with this, although it wouldn't be my only reason for jailbreaking.

Mine would be Infinidock. I don't understand why this is not available on the iPhone, right out of the box. On my Mac, I am not limited to 4 icons in the dock. Why should I be on the phone? I have more than 4 icons that I frequently use. Absolutely love love love Infinidock.

Other reasons:

IconRenamer - because you should be able to rename the icons
Springotmize 2
OpenNotifier
SMS Timestamps - Timestamps for EVERY SMS, not just when Apple thinks it is OK.
NoLockScreen - No more slide to unlock and then the enter PIN screen comes up. Wake the phone from sleep, and it goes right to the enter PIN screen.
WiCarrer - Shows what WiFi network I am connected to when WiFi is turned on. Changes from carrier to WiFi network. Doesn't seem to work with Zeppelin.
iFile
SBSettings
DoNotDisturb for SBSettings - turn Do Not Disturb on/off right from SBSettings.
PandoraSkips - unlimited skips on Pandora

NoLockScreen - No more slide to unlock and then the enter PIN screen comes up. Wake the phone from sleep, and it goes right to the enter PIN screen.
I can see where this is useful. Not the behaviour I want, but that's what's great about jailbreaking. Sometimes I just want to see the time. I have an activator action that takes me direct to the PIN screen when I press the home button. I do that because I've completely removed the slider and the camera grabber and their functionality from the lock screen. So, no need for this tweak for me. Pressing the power button shows me my lock screen without the PIN screen and I can see the time.

Not trying to put down this tweak as it's something I'd use if I had things set up differently. Just wanted to mention an alternate method of going direct to the PIN screen.

Prior to JB on iOS 6, I would never have guessed I'd say this but...I'm in love with all the tweaks that turn the Notification Center from a useless POS into a tool I'm actually now dependent on. It's ridiculous that Apple hands us a new function, but then cripples it so badly. It's like asking for a carpenter's hammer and being handed a child's toy version instead. As with nearly every other feature, JB gives you the tweaks to turn your NC into something a lot more powerful & better integrated with how you use your phone.

(But the main reasons I jailbreak are still iBlacklist, biteSMS, and FolderEnhancer. At the rate Apple adds useful new features, it'll be iPhone 10 before any of those three functions is available as stock.)
