I'm so not bothered by scratches, but WTF happened to that?

Did some screaming German kid get hold of it?

too many falls caused the hinge on the ibook to break. the keyboard keys fell off one by one over time, and i detached the keyboard to remove the ram and airport card, which i gave away. i still have it if anybody's interested. :)

To the OP: I don't think you'll be getting much sympathy out of the Apple sales clerks.

I had to really work my obsessive compulsive genes to find that scratch! I mean, I'm very particular about the beauty of my Apple computers, but that scratch is almost invisible. Don't spend all your time looking at your computer's belly! Turn it around and use it - that's the best solution.

If you're going to be like this for every scratch, I suggest getting one of these. I have one on my MacBook Pro and it's great, mine has no scratches.

Do these speck shells work well? I want to buy one but I am worried that it might move around in this case and cause more scratching. Can some that has had this for some time let me know if this case has caused any scratching over time. Also how is the heat with this case? thnxs:)

I've had it on my MacBook Pro for a couple months and I haven't noticed any scratches from it. The MacBook Pro is actually quite secure in the Speck case, so you don't have to worry about it moving around in it. And I really haven't noticed a big heat increase after using it. My temperatures are around ~125F with around 30% processor usage, not really cool, but not really hot. One thing to note is that I have a Core Duo MacBook Pro, so if you have a newer one, then it will probably run cooler.

my poor machine is only three weeks old and it has a HUGE scratch!!! what do i do??? take it back???

Take it back??? Are you serious?

You can't return items that are 3 weeks old because YOU scratched it

im not serious, im just poking fun at the people who come on here an complain about every little problem, so i as soon as i saw this scratch i was like, i know what im going to do :D

im surprised so many people took me seriously lol

id return it if it had a single dead pixel, but not any number of scratches

I have a handful of nice scratches on the bottom of mine. I like it. Gives it character.

This makes me sick. Are you serious? Take it back because of a scratch that you put there? It's retarded to think you can take a machine back because of a cosmetic blemish that you put there.
If you cannot afford to live with a scratch then maybe you should have bought a dell.

Heck laptops are going to gain scratches whether you like it or not, it's called using them.

If you were joking I think a lot of people's sense of humour /sarcasm detectors are turned off today, mine included. :D

why do you think i typed HUGE in caps in the original post, its obvious its not huge, i wasent even sure if the picture would show it, but thats what micro mode is for. i did worry when i thought it was cracked, then i might have taken it back, because the bottom shouldn't crack like that, but as many places as this thing has been the past three weeks im surprised theres not more scratches on the bottom

My MBP is a little over a year old and I have dents, scratches, bent plastic, discoloration, and pieces of metal that are bent such that they look deadly to touch.

Trust me, the scratch is the first of many....
