Could be... but a .2ghz OC seems a bit pointless. Or maybe they did it as a marketing exercise to make it seem the 7900 was in there. No idea really, but I suspect with their 'special relationship' with Intel it's a stock X7900.

How much better is the Extreme, and for what? It costs quite a bit. What would I get for that money?

...But as I said, what's really bizarre is pairing the probable stock X7900 with the 2600 Pro.

It's like taking the turbochargers off the Mitsubishi Evo engine and running the result on Aveo tyres.

Yeah Apple could have gotten a hold of the X7900 early. We'll have to wait until someone can get some data back on what the CPUID is.
