Funny, a lot of people consider Jack Tramiel to be pure evil

Tell me about it! I live near West Chester, PA (former HQ
of Jack's Commodore Inc). Although it's been many years
since Jack left the area, you'll still occasionally see one of
the bumper stickers made popular by his ex-employees:

"Will Rogers never met Jack Tramiel."

... for years he not only owned the company that made
the 6502, but used that ownership to his advantage ...

True enough, but he had nothing to do with developing the
6502. Jack bought the company (MOS Technology) after
they'd developed the world's first sub-$20 microprocessor,
and promptly fired the entire R&D department. IIRC, he
was only interested in owning their wafer fab.

BTW, the 6502 was a shameless stripped-down rip-off of
Motorola's 6800 architecture -- but it was CHEAP.

...the "good old days" ...weren't,

Anyone who knew the benefits and efficiency of a RISC chip will surely feel somewhat odd switching over to the dark side. I just wonder how good a next generation IBM chip could've been but I doubt it would've evolved as fast as these Intel Core products.

I hear you but the reality is the intel chips we have in our macs now are some of the best on the market. We were starved for updates with the G5 and now they happen so fast it can be depressing...

well, folks...

I sold my Old G4 733 on ebay for 228. Not bad for a Old computer. I'm kinda getting used to my mac mini.

Peace
