Not likely without a price hike. OLED is still too expensive for larger displays, including ones for tablet.

Yes, that is likely the reason Apple is delaying bringing the OLED Displays to the iPad firstly the supply of OLED Display Panels is a big problem, all Apple suppliers seem to be having problems making so many yields of the iPad OLED Displays and that too in these many quantities and obviously the cost factor an OLED Display would not happen without a Price Hike! Agreed ! But there are Apple Fan Boys ! Apple Cult ! Which would say Apple just take our Money ! We don't care ! But give us the damn product ! Show us how you can marvel us ? lol !!

Please keep in mind that other companies besides Apple have used OLED displays. I still own one of these I think it came out in 2014 which I suspect the reason Apple suddenly jumped to a 10.5” Display Size out of Now where is because they will be partnering with LG who made the 10.5” Dell Venue Tablet I Own below.

http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/venue-10-7000-series/spd/dell-venue-10-7040-tablet

They also made a 13” OLED Version and a 8.4” Version. All OLED so it wouldn’t be hard to jump that 12.9 IPad Pro to a 13” OLED IPad Pro.

I think Apple is gonna make a big Splash in 2019 with the below product line of iPad Pros. With LG who they already partnered with to make their 5K UltraFine Displays which are Amazing.

LG just needs the time to ramp up Production for such a task.

8.4” IPad Mini Pro OLED
10.5” IPad Pro OLED
13” IPad Pro OLED all made by LG (keep in mind they have already brought products to market OLED at these sizes) just no one noticed. Except a big OLED fan like me.

I'm not disputing that it's not possible, but not likely without a price hike. After having my 55" OLED TV I'm all for it. However, I used to hate it on my old Samsung phones.

I plan to upgrade to next years iPad Pros because of the rumor that it will have Face ID, smaller bezels, and ditch the home button. But I won’t upgrade if an OLED display causes a price hike to $1000 for 64gb Pro model.

Whoa ! An OLED Display with a slimmer bezel and Face ID would be a out of the world device ! I am sure many would get carried away simply looking at that device !

Would be nice when larger panels get OLED treatment but not sure many people would pay that price hike right now. 10.5" iPP was going for $499 this week.. an OLED version today would be $1500. Laptop territory

Why so high? The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (9.7") with OLED runs $478, the 8" S2 with OLED is < $300.

I doubt it would be priced so high ! $1500 that would preposterous!!

Yup, it would have the same affect the iPhone X has had, suddenly even those who wouldn’t spend that much money would now just have to have one.

That's what it costs! And that's why we don't have it yet. People are okay paying that much for phone but not quite there yet on tablets.

What data backs that up? Look at the Samsungs. OLED tablets at that higher range are higher-end Windows hybrids. No way would I pay that kind of price for any kind of iPad,

Data.. what am I foxconn? Apple's paying over $100 for the X's 5" OLED. It would have to be 3-4 times that for a tablet. Add on Apple's tax. I don't know, maybe I was too conservative. You're not getting data about a product that isn't produced, we're just shooting around ideas here. Sorry mate!

I agree with you.. we're not paying that money for a tablet and that's what I'm saying. Until the price of OLED's drops, Apple won't make it. There isn't enough profit in the margin.

I'm just saying that there are tablets already on the market with OLED displays and reasonable - even low - prices. I'm just trying to understand why you think it could be $1500.

Very true the Price increase would be insane, that’s why I’m buying I hope a new 2018 IPad Pro Redesigned But Obvioulsy with NO OLED this year but the A11X will be hard to pass up.

I’d rather spend the $1,000 or so that an OLED iPad would cost towards an LG 55” OLED 4K TV

In 2019 will indeed have oled ipads
Next year the 5.8” iphone will decrease already in price. Starting around 899$ probably (IF they maintain the 64 storage) and the big one will take the place for the starting point 999$
[doublepost=1514130628][/doublepost]So 749$ could be the starting point for an oled iPad 10.5” 64 storage

If and at all the OLED iPad's happen in 2019. I couldn't find anywhere Ming Chi Kuo quoting anywhere that Apple is bringing OLED iPad's in 2019.

Some people complain of eye strain and migraines caused by OLED screens:

https://www.androidauthority.com/community/threads/oled-eye-strain-and-migraines.48036/

Personally I've not had a problem with my Samsungs, and, like the OP on that thread, I also get migraine attacks, sometimes years apart, tho fortunately nowhere near as bad as his.

Is LCD easier on the eyes? The colors are more gentle and natural.

I had some form of eye strain when switching from a 7 plus to the x. I suspect it was a reaction to the viewing angles giving a blue shift when off angle.

After about 3 weeks I was used to it and any issues stopped.

But that was a long time ago,now he think just slimmer bezels and faceid for 2018
[doublepost=1514143824][/doublepost]An oled ipad with the same battery capacity i think with dark wallpaper and invert colors you will get around 30 hours of battery life
On my ipX i can leave without my charger for 2 days and allow smart invert and apple black wallpaper i get 10 hours battery usage instead of normal 5-6h
