So I just picked up the new M4 iPad Pro with that OLED display everyone’s been raving about. At first I wasn't that impressed about it until I watched HDR content on it. Let me tell you, it’s stunning, in fact, that it has completely ruined my TV with HDR content.

I was perfectly happy with my home theater setup, but nooooo, the M4 iPad Pro just had to flex on my TV. So guess I have to drop $3000 on a new LG OLED TV due to this iPad.

Yes you are right the IPP OLED screen is utterly amazing when watching HDR content especially. Watch TRON clips in HDR on Youtube and be blown away. Even Non HDR is improved especially dark and night scenes with those inky blacks. The Tandem OLED display is the most advanced screen on the planet right now bar none.

My 2018 11” iPad Pro is still going strong and fulfills all my creative needs, but the Oled M4 iPad Pros are the first time I’ve been tempted to upgrade. I’m not buying one right now, but I am definitely tempted.

LOL - nice! I went the opposite way. After picking up an LG G4 TV, I had to get an iPad Pro with an OLED screen.

The same thing happened on me, but in 2021. I bought the mini-LED iPad Pro and then immediately upgraded my TV to the LG C1. Now I’m using the tandem OLED iPad Pro 13”… haha but I may not change my TV again so soon.

Yeah we got the cheapest LG oled as a second TV, it was 650 open box. That thing is amazing. I’d love to replace our main tv, but it’s a 13 year old plasma, and the damned thing keeps working like the day it was new. Still, if it broke tomorrow and I had the cash, there’s no substitute for a 4K oled.

I got an LG OLED TV a couple of years ago. What can I say: Even my SO, who has absolutely no idea about tech or is interested in image quality (she'd watch movies in 360p) said that the picture just looks insanely good. I can't remained the LG OLEDs enough for movies/TV. Of course you need the right content. For instance Dolby Vision movies look so good. On screen the sun or even just a candle can be so bright that you don't want to directly look at them.

Congratulations, it’s a great iPad!

You’ll love the LG OLED. I bought mine, a CX, when the last stimulus checks went out in 2021. I still love it to this day.

Although that G4 is mighty tempting lol

So why not buy a vision pro and have a larger screen.

lol. I am in similar situation. My main tv from 2009-2010, am LG 3D TV keeps working, and I will replace it when it is dead. I use an LG C1 as monitor and second TV. I am not goong back from OLED displays. I haven’t upgraded to M4, and will keep my M1 iPad for few more years.

Im so glad I didnt walk into the Apple Store last week and check out the new pros. I promised my wife I would just buy a used iPad Air this time around. I probably would be in the dog house still right now lol. The only oled device I have is my iPhone lol. Once I go down that path, I know its going to be an expensive adventure lol

I got the M4 13” iPad this spring. The images are really amazing. Even watching old TV shows I sometimes just stare at the picture as it is so sharp and the grey scales resolve so well.

I upgraded from the same iPad model as you have, and while not a necessary update, it really feels like a good one. Utterly enjoying the screen!
