I'm really curious how the Mac knows if the iPad is left or right to it? Bluetooth?
im guessing display preferences manually?

wait.. how do use it ?I don't know about that Logitech feature, but everything Logitech I installed (be it for webcam or mice) was a real pain and I was really happy to being able to remove it.
Being able to control the Macs seamlessly and natively with one pair of keyboard / mouse is huge. I still have a maxed out 2019 iMac that I am planning to keep for quite some time, with lots of RAM and x86 VMs running on it etc, with a 24" screen hooked up as well. Now exchanging the 2nd screen with a M1 iMac is suddenly becoming a viable option.
At the moment nobody uses it, as it seems not to be included in the first beta...wait.. how do use it ?
Aye, works with iPad and macOS out of the box without any drivers or third party software or hardware, 👏I dunno about revolutionary, Logitech mice came with software to do this for years
Which Logiteach mouse let you control several Computers and iPads with one mouse and keyboard and also drag-drop/copy-paste between any of them?I dunno about revolutionary, Logitech mice came with software to do this for years

It knows from which way you swiped to try to get to the other screen.I'm really curious how the Mac knows if the iPad is left or right to it? Bluetooth?
Yeah Logitech flow is only for Logitech mice. Universal control is native to OS and can use any mouse and it also works on iPads.I dunno about revolutionary, Logitech mice came with software to do this for years
Yeah but you have to manually toggle/switch them. I want a seamless experience as I jump back and forth. 1-3s delays when you are doing that hundreds of times every day adds up.
I can already seem my work flow benefiting from Universal Control a huge ton, especially with an iPad Pro in the mix and being able to drag and drop things across devices.
in regards to logitech options, nope. it is seamless. no toggles
Off topic but live text does work on Intel Macs. From my understanding all Montery-compatible Macs support it. Only early betas had the Apple Silicon/M1 restriction. It looks like there are several features only available on M1 Macs though, including portrait mode (FaceTime), Live Text in photos, interactive globe (Maps), and detailed new city experience (Maps).
I totally know what you mean. I'm still upset that I wasn't able to future proof my 2014 MBP for Mini-LED screens. /sThis is exactly the sort of new feature that future-proofers aren't going to be able to future-proof their machines for.
I wrote about my use case for UC in this post if you want a practical example of what it is and how I use it: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/universal-control-is-amazing-for-my-productivity.2333186/In practical terms....what is it?
