I don't know about that Logitech feature, but everything Logitech I installed (be it for webcam or mice) was a real pain and I was really happy to being able to remove it.

Being able to control the Macs seamlessly and natively with one pair of keyboard / mouse is huge. I still have a maxed out 2019 iMac that I am planning to keep for quite some time, with lots of RAM and x86 VMs running on it etc, with a 24" screen hooked up as well. Now exchanging the 2nd screen with a M1 iMac is suddenly becoming a viable option.

Its not included in Beta 1, but it will be awesome to use! That demo Apple had was much nicer than lets say Logitech Flow.

I dunno about revolutionary, Logitech mice came with software to do this for years
Yeah Logitech flow is only for Logitech mice. Universal control is native to OS and can use any mouse and it also works on iPads.

it’s good to native version you know

Yeah but you have to manually toggle/switch them. I want a seamless experience as I jump back and forth. 1-3s delays when you are doing that hundreds of times every day adds up.

I can already seem my work flow benefiting from Universal Control a huge ton, especially with an iPad Pro in the mix and being able to drag and drop things across devices.

in regards to logitech options, nope. it is seamless. no toggles

The Universal Control toggle is only first time you 'intrude' upon a neighboring device, presumable to prevent accidental slide over if that's not what you want. Once you 'make it so', it's seamless, no delay.

It looks like there are several features only available on M1 Macs though, including portrait mode (FaceTime), Live Text in photos, interactive globe (Maps), and detailed new city experience (Maps).
Off topic but live text does work on Intel Macs. From my understanding all Montery-compatible Macs support it. Only early betas had the Apple Silicon/M1 restriction.

One source confirming this (from the beta period) https://www.macrumors.com/2021/07/27/macos-monterey-live-text-intel-based-macs/ plus I’ll confirm from my own anecdotal experience using the feature as well. (A 2020 iMac i9)

Probably my top features of this year’s upgrade. Handy for grabbing a screenshot during a Zoom call and then being able to quickly grab a URL, copying identifiers for some sort of collaborative debugging, copy slide bullet point into my own notes, etc. (And n iPhone it is very handy for calling a number or getting a router’s password into the clipboard.)

definitely need to get used to it; twice yesterday, i could not find the cursor on my imac (it had 'sneaked' over to my macbook 🤣 )

but love being able to drag files between macs; simple, intuitive. and it's, uh, interesting to type on my macbook keyboard in a document on the imac (not sure yet if i'd do that regularly)....
