Hi,

I was just looking through my applications, and saw Omnigraffle. I remember when I first heard about it (a few years back), I was really excited and thought what a useful application... But have since never used it.

I'm just wondering if anyone uses it and what you use if for most. I think I'd like it if it could render the boxes ala aqua, like it shows in the app icon:

What about you? Do you like it or use it?

Get It

Graffle is an amazing app. It was written by the same folks who wrote the original Draw! for NeXTStep back in the day. (In fact, it can read/write Omni Draw files).

It was essentially the app that was ripped off to make Visio.

The pro version of Graffle can import Visio XML files.

Nothing better for making drawings and diagrams on OS X.

I use it constantly as part of working at home to make diagrams for various design docs. I love it.

I'm now trying to determine how to make stencils - there are quite a few available, and I'm sure it's a no-brainer to make them, but I just haven't gotten there yet.

BTW, the regular version does almost everything the Pro one does, and should be sufficient for anyone to decide if it's worthwhile for them.

OmniGraffle is one of those really useful apps. I think their licencing system is very clever too - if you don't use it much, you don't have to pay for it. You can get a 1-day demo version, and when it expires you can renew it for another day. If you use the app a lot, you'd get frustrated by this and can pay the reasonable licence fee. But for someone like me who only uses it once every few months, going to their site and registering is fine.
