Switched to an XS and it felt like a relief (even though the Max screen still beckons me). Had the same ebook open side by side and the max only gave 5 lines extra at the same font size interestingly. Will see how this goes, but this might be a better fit as I’m walking through Manhattan, holding onto the subway pole, holding coffee, etc

I also returned a Max for the XS. I have XL hands, but holding the Max is like a large sheet of breakable glass - not a "phone". I'm not sure why people keep talking about the XR being perfect: lower specs, heavier, wider than even the XS. If $ is the issue , sure save $200 & go with the XR, but having the optical zoom with me 24/7 is worth it to me..

I’m not a case person; putting a case on sort of helps with the one handed use of the Max with big hands, but I just can’t bring myself to keep a case on. So for one handed case less use the XS just feels better. So torn, the Max screen is like heaven.

This is what I found. XSM is all about video. Outside of that I don’t find a major advantage. Scrolling is easy.

Typing is a major advantage for me on the XSM and it’s a big pull keeping me from reverting back to the X already. For a year I have been grumbling to my wife about the cramptness of typing on the X, so it has been really nice having things spread out a bit more on the XSM.

But at the end of the day I’m pretty cheap, so we’ll see what ultimately wins out.
