yeah, hard to tell. the Moto G6 and similar phones kill it here in the budget arena, that's for sure
The only segment Americans miss out on is the budget and midrange phones with huge batteries. Redmi note series, Lenovo p2, Moto one power and loads of others.

The poco phone is popular with people who know what a snapdragon 845 is and are at least semi into mobile phones to begin with. I would assume the phone would be a flop in America, but I could be wrong. When the #1 thing poco fans bring up right away is how cheap it is, that tells you all you need to know. For $300 you get a nice spec sheet, but it’s not even in the same league as one plus, regardless of all the people who say it’s gonna cause them to go bankrupt and lose sales lol.

yeah, good points. and Xioami literally has no brand presence here except for a few tech die hards like those in this forum.

Oneplus will have an uphill battle convincing people who don’t know anything about phones why to buy theirs. A lot of people don’t even know the difference between iOS or android, or what version of android their phone is even on. I don’t think xiaomi has any shot at all of establishing itself here.

One+ will get a lot of in-store advertising by the sales reps and maybe even a T-Mo commercial. They'll do fine, especially if it's at a $500 price point.

I hope so, because I am a fan of their phones. The pricing is imperative, though. They can’t try to compete with lg and Samsung yet. If a v40 or s9+ is close to the price of a 6T, I think that’s a bad sign. Low $500 should be decent.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for $500, because if they are stupid and price it above $650 like Blackberry does, they won't sell any. LG doesn't sell any high end phones at T-Mobile compared to Samsung and Apple. LG does great on their low end phones like the Stylo 4 and Aristo 2 though. But those are $250 and under.

The v20/30 and upcoming v40 all seem legit, but not at full msrp. Lg phone prices fall at an insane rate.

Sorry, I just reread my post, and it’s confusing the way I wrote it. LG has high end phones and they are pretty good with the ThinQ, G6 and V30, but no one is buying them in T-Mobile stores. At least not in the 22 stores I’m responsible for.

Which is probably why the msrp falls at an alarming rate.

Figures...I left TMO a month ago because of how they keep tweaking JOD and making it harder to use. Then their service in building is horrible for me.
I'm in this boat. My new residence has pretty much no data. I'm on an older plan because I liked that I could have multiple EIP on one phone line. It's starting to feel not worth it unless they deploy the band 71 capabilities in my area. I got the V30+ for this.

It's getting harder seeing them increase the insurance prices that came with JUMP 1 now that I can no longer use my data and barely make calls either. It's a conundrum.

I went to AT&T and so far my DL speeds are a lot better and coverage in building is a TON better than TMO was for me.
YMMV but the switch has been good for me so far.
