I wish we were at that point where we could get foldables (in the States) at that price. We're basically still at $2,000 with taxes.

We're still years off from budget Foldables. Heck, they still haven't fixed the big issues in the flagships (crease, durability, software, etc.). I'd hate to see what a budget foldable looks like in the US. Lol.
Crease has been fixed somewhat with the Oppo Find N2, they managed to do better with hiding the crease. And durability will always be a cause of concern with moving parts... its only so much can be done. I've yet to any crazy damage to my foldable with the amounts of drops it endured. But as long as customer support is solid when it comes to repairs, that's where the goal should be.

And when it comes to software, Google is leading the pack when it comes to optimization for their app suite... and with the introduction of their hardware (Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold) we should see better 3rd party app support. And not to mention, Samsung is pushing the market forward with their offering.

They typically release products under the OPPO brand in third world and countries generally with a lot of poverty.

Does OPPO make a foldable yet?
What? LOL.

3rd world countries? Where to you get that?
China, UK, Germany are all countries Oppo ships to - these are NOT 3rd world countries by any measure (GDP, average wealth/income per citizen, savings/citizen - these last two may seem lower than USA but account for how many more citizens there are!)
- Mexico is and yet the Oppo Find N2 Flip shipped there in fall 2022.

I hear ya but it’s still Oneplus

Edit : let’s see when they get out to peeps how it performs ..specs are great but we shall see
OnePlus is owned by Oppo for a few short years now and shares manufacturing and engineering talents and findings. This isn't the OnePlus from 6yrs ago.

The launch is expected on 10/19 with a starting price of $1,699 USD.

7.8" 2K Inner AMOLED display
120Hz refresh rate
6.31" outer AMOLED
120Hz refresh rate
Android 13
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 - 3.36GHz
LPDDR5x RAM & UFS 4.0 storage
4800mAh battery 67 watt charging
48MP+48MP UW + 64MP periscope
32MP and 20MP front
16GB+256GB
Alert slider

I don't know, those specs OnePlus has for it... already makes a statement. 48MP+48MP and 64MP periscope. Then there's 32MP and 20MP selfies, that's really good compared to the competitors in the US.
Hmmm. Right now these specs don't really tell us much.
1. AMOLED display at 120Hz: is this 1st, 2nd generation or the latest that Samsung uses since they've switched from LG to Samsung displays early September 2023?!
^ moreover what about the 120hz rate is it fixed at 120hz or 60/120hz or is it really LTPO which is it 60:120hz depending on application/user usage? or is it 1hz:120Hz = THIS is the sweet spot!

64MP periscope gives us only the technology used.
- what's the focal length being implemented? How does it compare with the Xperia 1 V?
- can it be used for video, and can it be changed during an ongoing video?
- How many glass lenses is used and is the sensor at 64MP or is it 128MP and in duplex mode?

Lots of questions.

Great on the external size of the display not too wide not too narrow about 5-7mm wider than the Fold 5, but it really counts on the inside.

Therein lies the rub: the INSIDE of the device is the key: Software and how well its made and laid out, along with partnerships!

Samsung's Microsoft partnership offers M365 Basic for 6mths free and a reduced regular charge later with 100GB storage.

Here you have it compared to the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5. It's wider and the crease looks a lot better.

To me those dimensions look perfect. Right between the Samsung Fold 5 and the Xiaomi Fold 3 / Honor V2. Looks like the ideal height and width together. Looking forward to this release!

Thanks for sharing... Are you planning on jumping on board? It seemed to handle it pretty well in the test..
Can't say until the item is announced. I'm leaning towards no at this point though. We shall see.

Preorder signups have some potential savings

Thanks! I got a few coupons with them.

$1,699 - $310 = $1,389 plus I will sell the Buds Pro 2 for around $100. So, I'm looking at $1,289 plus tax. Sounds like a deal to me!

Oh yeah, it's a dope phone. Tbf, it has to be... especially when they have to compete against both Samsung and Google in the US. On paper, it's definitely the better foldable out of Samsung and Google.

Will this be able pull me away from the Galaxy Fold? Not quite sure... but I'm curious what software features they have planned for it. Since MrMobile couldn't share those details...

Below is the OnePlus Pad... checked out a couple vids to see what I can expect from the tablet experience. And this is what I had hoped Samsung would have implemented for their drop down Notification Center on tablets.

And look at what Samsung offers! Extra space wasted.

I believe that’s the Oppo Find N3? No? I like what Oppo has done in the foldable space… as MrMobile suggested OnePlus probably copied their hinge design in an effort to eliminate the crease on the OnePlus Open.

I think in terms of productivity features… it’s tough to beat Samsung. But when it comes to photography specifically in the foldable space… the competition is winning.

They're the exact same phone specs for specs. One just has OPPO branding and the other as OnePlus.

The OPPO one will have additional colors, though. Only green and black for OnePlus.
