At one point there were rumours of an apple branded fitness band like a Fitbit. Sadly the rumours have yet to come true.

I don't think they will honestly. The Apple Watch is a phenomenal product because of how frighteningly indispensable it is to those who use it. It's far more deeply rooted in its users' lives than the iPhone or Mac are, which are still replaceable to a large degree if you really get sick of them one day.

The AW to me is the ultimate lock-in to the Apple Ecosystem so I don't see Tim & Co. shaking up the formula one bit. Especially releasing a product that performs all the most-useful fitness oriented features of the AW. Would really love to be proven wrong about that though some day!

Had a look at the Huawei and Amazfit and they have fairly large screens already, so it sort of defeats the purpose. Might as well get an AW at that point.

The Mi Band however looks quite slender, so I'm definitely going to be looking into that. Thanks for the recommendations!

There are also some bands from Garmin, a little more expensive. The vivosmart might also be interesting for you.

Re Bluetooth, I've used my Bose earphones with the Apple watch, no problems whatsoever.

I've also gone swimming with my Apple watch without issue. And there are many posters here who report regularly showering with their Apple watch without any problems. I don't know what happened with the poster who says their watch was damaged after a swim, but for the most part, swimming or showering with the watch should be fine.

I also agree with the poster who said size differences between the earlier and later models are minimal. Once you put it on, you can't really feel a difference between earlier and later models.

In terms of wearing two watches, one on each wrist, I did that for about a week when I was trying the Ultra. Ultra on one wrist and regular Apple watch on the other. I ultimately ended up returning the Ultra, but I quickly got used to wearing two watches, and found that I liked the feel of that. It made me feel more balanced to have the weight of a watch on both arms. It may be socially odd to wear two watches, but physically, it felt great.
