Consultant,

I am not recommending the seller. A3 asked for 'images' which I have supplied access to.

Yup, understand you are not recommending the seller.

Appreciate the info you provided.

Just mentioning the facts, don't want anyone from MR to get ripped off.

For example, this seller of lots of sim was removed by ebay (as of December 25, 2007). I wonder why. Note the "No longer a registered user" can appears for suspended accounts, so perhaps there might be a small chance that the account will be reinstated in the future.

MANY ebay sellers all of a sudden stop selling other items and only sell these chips in large quantities. Buyer beware...

Stealthsim works

Gentleman,

Stealthsim arrived last week. I had purchased from an ebay seller. It works fine, unlocks the jailbreaked iphone 1.1.2 with 4.06 firmware.

Good Luck to you all.

Can you take a picture of both front and back of the stealthsim?

Does it work with different sim cards without updating the stealthsim with sim card info?

StealthSim

Ok so I purchased a PSS Sim Solution from Ebay for $50 + $20 Shipping. It was coming from Tawain or Hong Kong. This seller does not have any active listings right now but since I do not know exactly what type of SIM it is here is the link to the listing I purchased. It has a pic of it:

This SIM did not work. After about 10 attempts it got crumpled coming out. I wrote to the ebayer asking for refund and he offered a exchange which I didn't want because it didn't work to begin with.

After learning my $70 lesson, I bought a $99.99 + $30 Shipping Stealthsim from Canada received it prior to what date Fedex told me I would get it. Put it right in, with no tape, I might add. The tape made it to big, because it was definitely a snug fit. I was almost scared to go ahead and put it in after my PSS Sim disaster, but it worked on the first try with absolutely no issues. I recommend just paying the higher price and getting the better quality product.

Also, I am not very tech savvy, but in case anyone needs to know on 1.1.2 if you simply go in under EDGE in the menu just put in an APN of wap.voicestream.com and leave Username and Password Blank the EDGE should work for T-Mobile USA. At least that is what I did and now I have a fully functional device.

Good Luck everyone

Stealthsim

Hello Guys:

Just to let you know, I bought four cards (Stealthsim) on ebay
from a company listed as recycledcash. The service was
great but best of all the cards work as advertised. I used
them on last generation 1.1.2 4.6 bootloader phones
as needed jailbroken and activated.
I use them n Mexico with Telcel.
Everything works fine.

Enrique

Paranoid

Why are you guys so paranoid? Yes I might have signed up recently, and I only signed up for this. I asked a question and nobody answered so I'm just trying to be helpful to others, this is the aim of this forum, not to be paranoid.

Stealthsim works, I bought it on ebay. The week 49 iphone had issues with youtube (not working) and also power management issue, where the phone goes idle and the service disseapears.

Hope this helps someone.

I put a double tape between my SIM and the StealthSIM, and it prevented the two from making proper contact. The 0.02mm or so of the tape's thickness was making the connection flaky, so i removed it. Now The two pieces are sitting in my iPhone without help, and my phone's been working fine, so far.

The only one problem I have seems to be that every once in a while, the connection would cut out and my phone thinks there's no SIM, but promptly gain it back. This is shown by the StealthSIM request to display notification and (the screen that displays serial number) being shown. Anybody else get this? In 4 days, I've gotten this maybe twice.

hi there, I've been a member of this forum for several months now... I bought an OTB1.1.2 iPhone back in December and I've been using it as an iPod touch because the stealthsims are really expensive... So I've been searching ALOT in eBay, and the cheapest "stealthsim" is 39.99, I'd like to know if you think this sim will work, or if you know the seller.... He has a lot of positive feedback... thanks in advance..

i just posted a thread about the exact same problem. from 4-5 bars to 0, then no service. A few seconds later the SS message comes up and then works again. usually lasts 20 seconds or so form drop to connectiona gain...

I have NO idea what's doing this, it's very annoying. I had a Tmobile sim in for a week and a bit for macworld, and all was fine that I can remember, I go thome and my rogers sim is doign teh strangeness.. I've reseated it over to maek sure it's good and still, same thing... i've read it may be older sims causing the problem, but im not sure? My rogers sim is 4yrs old or so, heh.

If anyone has ay idea let's hear em!

I am a little perplexed?

You buy an iPhone for at least US$399 - but you find US$40 or more "really expensive"?

For something that may soon be obsolete, yes. I'm in the same boat. I just bought my iPhone on Monday, but I have to wait and get the purchase approved by my boss (the company I work for should be paying for half of the purchase of the iPhone) before I open the box. My boss is out of town until this next Monday, so I'll continue to wait. I may even wait a bit longer to see if a software unlock becomes available. It literally could be any day now, correct?

Problem Fix

For all of you who are having the problem of losing service when the phone autolocks (goes idle) (no service when locked iphone),

you have to go into the iphone and make some changes but me and my brother found an easy fix; just turn on the ipod and start playing a music and turn the volume down, let it play. That way you will not lose service, the only downside is your phone will last about 20% less. (battery)

Even if your employer is only paying for half the cost of your iPhone - US$200 - and you are paying US$200. I don't see how a working person can't afford around say US$50 for a device to get the phone working on the SIM of their choice.

I assume you are in the USA ? How much do you get paid over there? I have heard stories of waiters pushing for tips because they get paid so little, but really, don't you have minimum wage laws there?

And regarding the 'software unlock' for 1.1.2 - No, I don't see any sign of it ever being available.

hey what do you guys think of this ebay seller? legit?

Mike,

Are you sure you really want one? You do know about the software unlock, and that the SIM cards have only been well established to work on OOTB 1.1.2?

I have two spares, and I'd send you one for the price of postage. Do you PayPal?

yes, i like the hardware unlock because you can still fall back on the apple warranty. yes, i paypal what chip do you have?

BTW...i got a week 50 otb 1.1.2

I have a StealthSIM that's never been used and a TurboSIM that I know works with my week 49(ish) iPhone OOTB 1.1.2.

I'm in Ireland. Where are you and how would you like it sent? Cheapest (and easiest for me) options are here: www.anpost.ie
