Same obstacle did I encounter yesterday by in MacOS Sonoma 14.5.1 succesfully install. the OCLP 1.6 (Beta) and it did its Post-install Root Patch - showing it had to update my graphic and Modern Wifi - then past install of public MacOS Soquoia 15 and being pinged it had to conduct Post-install Root patch - here is my message txt.
- Starting Patch Process
- Determining Required Patch set for Darwin 24
The following patches will be applied:
- Graphics: Intel Ivy Bridge
- Networking: Modern Wireless
- Verifying whether Root Patching possible
- Patcher is capable of patching
- Local PatcherSupportPkg resources available, mounting...
- Mounted Universal-Binaries.dmg
- Running sanity checks before patching
- Running patches for MacBookPro10,2
- Running Preflight Checks before patching
- Found SkylightPlugins folder, removing old plugins
- Cleaning Auxiliary Kernel Collection
An internal error occurred while running the Root Patcher:

That popup, which detects that OCLP patches have not been installed yet, can be cancelled, as you are getting ready to do an install of those patches. Or, you can decide to install the patches by clicking the "OK" on that popup. The results, either way, should clear up the patching issue.
Whenever I get a failed patch install (which happens quite often for me on one or two of my older Macs), I usually get a successful completion after a restart, when I run the OCLP patcher again.

my Post-install root patch also failed to install
- the popup is my starting point
- and then I end with the Crash
- so now I have Create MacOS 15.0 from OCLP 1.6.0 and waiting on it to finish install.

So I tried installing sequoia on macpro 6,1 - won’t even install past the initial loader - not compatible 🥲

Hiya all I have managed to get 15.0 7 Beta running on my old 2011 machine. A few things don’t run very well like WiFi and brightness control. Bluetooth works and so does Ethernet so I can browse the web. It’s still a usable Mac but would love to get the WiFi and brightness sorted. I am going to change the old graphics card for something better and see how things go. Any suggestions for a better graphics card.

Well managed to get this to boot - but after installing root patches, machine now just boot loops. Oh well, I’ll try again in another few days

Well with the latest nightly and beta 8 - finally got this up and running - albeit without graphics acceleration still - but the native cards in my Mac Pro 6,1 are quick enough so far, just looks a little uncolourful
