OCLP is a project develop from OpenCore. It help the user to config and install OpenCore on genuine Mac in an easier way, also help old Mac users to patch some system kext to run newer macOS. But it use the same official OpenCore release.

For cMP, IMO, the best way to run Monterey is to upgrade the hardware (e.g. your RX580 is the supported hardware), then use OpenCore to install an unpatched Monterey.

If you are ok to do that, my link at post #13 has the pre-configured OpenCore for cMP. Which allow your RX580 to display boot screen.

Then you can follow the video guide in that link to mod the config plist, and install Monterey natively.

After that, you can revert the config plist to enable full GPU HWAccel, and CPU power management, etc.

The steps are more complicated than using OCLP. But I insist to push the user to learn some basic stuff, such as mount the EFI partition, locate the OpenCore files, and basic skill to mod the config.

If you are OK for that, you may try my package.
Thank you so much for your guide! I was able to easily have the Mac up and running with no issues. I really appreciate you putting that guide together.

So I’m happy to say everything is working fine but I’m having this random issue lately..
I’ll sometimes restart from Mac OS so I can get into the opencore boot picker to boot WINDOWS and it will show the boot picker, but for some strange reason my mouse pointer only goes up and down only so I can’t really use that to choose the drives.
So I use the keyboard to tab over to the drive but it won’t let me press enter on the keyboard, normally it does work. I’m using the wireless Magic Keyboard for reference. Well I then end up turning the machine off and then back on, but when I do, I get a black screen with nothing. Sometimes the nvram does help, but as of now I’m stuck on a black screen.

Any ideas??

Update:
I had the Mac Pro unplugged all day yesterday and plugged it up this morning, then stepped out for some coffee, when I came back it was booted into windows. So I shut it off then the turned it on again and I got the black screen once again. I’m so confused as to how to get this machine to work properly.

Did you try NVRAM reset + SMC reset?

Unplug the computer for a long time is effective doing a SMC reset.

I am also using the wireless Magic Keyboard for a Mac Pro. Therefore, I can confirm that this combination does work.

I would like to try this with my MP3,1 and Monty. Any experience? Or hints

Hi, I encountered a problem with installing open core Monterey on mac pro 4,1 (flashed to 5,1). Eventually, I was able to install it using the original graphics card GT120. After the installation completes, I'm even able to use Monterey and it runs surprisingly well on the GT120.But, if I try to put the back my Saphire Pulse RX580 8GB, I get a blank screen after the apple progress bar finishes loading(which also takes quite a long time), meaning I get no no graphics at all, just a black screen. I can boot back to High-SIerra and use the operating system with no issues at all with either the GT120 or the RX580. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue to have Monterey work with the RX580?
Please note (tried to install Monterey with the RX 580 in the machine but can't get the USB stick install to launch the install mac os screen - getting a black screen after the boot loader. That's why I ended up installing Monterey with the GT120 in the machine )

I have an issue on my iMac 8,1. I trey to install it and it boots to a screen showing an image of a wireless mouse with animation to turn it off and on (I'm wired) and a picture of a keyboard or laptop with the same animation, to turn it on and off
