OK.

So show me where in Opera on iOS in SETTINGS there is an option to sync.

Seriously.

I am not in the business to "spread misinformation".

If you do know how, please let us know.

Thanks.
God damnit , my apologies , you are right .jist checked on ipad and there's no log in option ! i was absolutely certain I had it on my iphone but ig I confused it with android

Such a shame , it's still hasn't been implemented , disappointedly surprised

Apologies again

Sure ,I'll send it when I get access to my dad's iphone , or my ipad
Thanks!

Here is a link to Opera's Forum where many others ask about this very issue. (Oh and including one from a Opera Moderator saying

And yes, that was 2022…
Here we are in 2023 and many of us are still mystified about the missing Sync function.

Well there ya go… easy to jump on to the "Spreading misinformation" bandwagon…

Glad I wasn't just pulling it out of my ass.

🙄

As I asked in my post, how do you set it up in SETTINGS in iOS?

Thanks.
It's been a while since I set it up in iOS, but I believe I just went clicked on the profile icon and then scrolled down to 'Sync and Backup'. Here you can choose from a number of things you'd like to sync. You can toggle each option on and off. I have bookmarks and speed dials toggled on. All I can tell you is my bookmarks sync and I use several OS's. I've never had an issue and if I did, I wouldn't use Opera.

I've got to admit, they've got a nice aesthetic going on. Still, an AI integrated into your browser, having full access to what you look at and when, where, and in what context you're looking at it? Spooky…
This aint no different with google products such as Chrome. They track everything you do. Even in incognito mode i get ads based on what i was looking for.

I downloaded it and deleted it right away. The first website it opened went to a Chinese website. I tried a second time, and it took me to another Chinese website, so I deleted it immediately and scanned my computer to ensure nothing else was downloaded.

You clearly didn't download an approved installer, unless you actually live in China, then this would be expected. You are the one to blame here, not Opera. Sounds like a poor attempt at spreading disinformation.

Used to use it but kinda gave up. Chromes more consistent , is faster , has better integration to the OS (on Android at least) , provides with a native password manager , which afaik opera doesn't , has excellent RAM management

I wonder if battery is better on opera though.

Why do you hate chrome so much? Because of the data they gather ?
Chrome, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, Ms Edge, Bromite etc are all forks of Chromium open source browser.

Let's see ...
  • Custom installer that doesn't reveal what is being installed — FAIL
  • No Keychain support — MAJOR FAIL (unless someone knows of a solution?)
  • Requirement for Opera account — ummmm....
  • The need to hold down Cmd-Q for 2 seconds to quit (by default, but changeable) — FAIL
The browser still feels foreign on macOS. Heavy and clunky, much like older versions of Firefox did. Once they can solve the above issues and make the browser feel like it is a natural part of macOS, then I will give it a go.

just download and updated to the "ONE", now all my tabs on Opera browser are all jammed up. :( got to find a way to spread them out like they used to be.

I'm sure it's customizable, but at first glance, it way too busy. Too much "Look at me!" ... "Look over here and click me!" ... when I just want to focus on my web content.

What's wrong with chromium? Good ram management, better websites rendering, better web devs support , native dark mode
Does not follow web standards.

Lazy web devs using the ”dev” support building web sites not following web standards.

Native dark mode: mehhh

Does not follow web standards

Slow

Bad ram handling

Did I mention not following web standards?

It’s IE all over again.

Enlighten me about web standards, from what I know WebKit is much worse in that aspect

What meh, native dark mode means your eyes are at peace, without using an extension that injects a **** ton of JS in your page . Give me one extension that's good for safari pls , I'm actually looking for one (since well, I use safari too)

It certainly isn't slow, matter of fact it's ok par with safari, if not faster. Depends on the tasks and sites ofc

As for ram handling ,chromium has seen crazy improvements lately, how long has it been since you used it ? Try again, maybe you'll like it , seriously!

Safari actually uses more RAM than chrome now, believe it or not

But battery on WebKit is much much better
