i just looked at my order on apple.com/orderstatus and my case is still showing shipped by april 3rd, I guess they may have ran out of ipad case preorders.

Thanks for this thread. Wasn't aware cases were going so quickly, as well. I didn't expect that.
I've pre-ordered the 3G 64GB. I was really quite sure I wanted the case, too. The functionality of it as a frame and a typing platform seems ideal to me. Had heard some mixed things about the material and the quality, so I wanted to see it in person first. However, since I'm going on a 2 month business trip to Seoul in May, I don't want to risk them being on back order when I walk into the store in mid-April. (I'm out of the country now, too. Bonus is the 3G wait doesn't really affect me that much.) Bottom line, I went ahead and ordered the case separately. Figure I can always return it or sell it.
Now I'm just praying that both iPad 3G and case are not delayed for any reason.

I pre-ordered my iPad early on the 12th and then called back a couple of hours later and they told me the cases were back-ordered (they weren't when I placed the original order) - delivery not scheduled until April 20th.
I realized today that the Camera Connection Kit was not available and tried to contact Apple about why or when - no help at all. The retail store said they know nothing; the online chat person (computer?) said "I can not speculate on why the iPad Camera Connection Kit is not available"

I've got an iPad (two, actually) on reserve at my local store. My guess is that they're only going to let people with reservations up to the iPad counter before 3pm, so I'm not too afraid of them running out of cases when I pick mine up that morning. I'll probably pick up two cases (one for each iPad), one dock and one VGA cable.
I've seen some nicer-looking cases online from other companies, though they don't yet seem to be available. Either Apple will have some in-store on launch day or I'll wait for some nicer cases to come out.

I second buying the keyboard and waiting on the case. There may be much better third party ones by the time it comes out.
whats the odds that they might be able to crank out some more cases before release? I am disappointed to have pre-ordered the iPad but the case is showing that it will not ship until the 15th. Gonna be doing some traveling early in April and it would have been nice to have a case.
