Ordered my first mac today!

Well it's like still like an hour away and ups are claiming 'adverse weather conditions' even though all the snow is gone down here in the south east. So hope it comes tomorrow seeing as I took a day off college to wait for it :/

Confused.... If u took off from college, doesnt that mean that u should have gotten the education discount on ur own and not need ur sister?

I'm from crappy old Hastings! I'm guessing your from the south east as well? Anyway, you lot will never guess what but I had a driving lesson at 2pm and, of course, my iMac just had to be delivered 5 minutes after I left... I'm really pissed haha!

Well I would have used my college discount but you can get a higher discount with university.

Cheers hellhammer that makes me feel better lol. And I dunno if you two are from America but in the uk you need to be connected to your uni's campus to use the edu store that's why I phoned them up.

i ordered mine through the student store online and i had no problems what so ever and im in the midlands

You do have to be connected to the university network to use educational discount.
Might be different depending on the university.

Yeah, I had a 27" ACD due for delivery back on the 1st December, didn't arrive until yesterday, and that was after chasing UPS several times. Driver almost didn't bother attempting to come to my house either, as he "thought" my road would be impassable, when it wasn't.

Haha, I hate lazy UPS drivers. But in there defense they are under tremendous pressure not to screw up in their truck. One little mistake could mean there job. I'm just a pre-loader though which is just unloading trailers at 4am.

See, I wouldn't want people taking risks, but to assume my road was impassable and to just not bother even trying would have been taking the proverbial. The only reason he actually checked was because he was delivering to the private hospital at the end of the road and thought that he may as well give it a go - and lo and behold, clear tarmac!

It came today! It's horrible though because I can't even use it till christmas because it's part of my Christmas present but of course I had to open it up to 'see if it was damaged'
