Got the OS 9 CD and booted up using it. I tried to set the partition that has my System Folder as the start-up disk but it won't let me choose anything except the CD.

I ran Disk Aid on the Drive and it said no problems.

The CD has OS 9.1. I was about to install the software again, but not sure if I should do a clean install or not. I hate to lose all my system extensions, etc. The system files all have correct icons as if it's blessed.

How should I proceed? Should I install or just copy the finder or Mac OS ROM files or what?

I should note too that I have tons of apps installed on this machine which I no longer have the install CDs for (long story) and I have and my Pro Tools software/hardware (the only reason I'm still using OS 9) requires that I use OS 9.2.2, so I'll have to update after I install from this OS 9.1 CD.

I have fixed this problem I think. I got the OS 9 CD, installed (not clean install - I had the system folder backed up on another drive anyway so I figured I'd go for it), and then chose that HD partition as the startup disk. Restarted and it's booting up fine now.

Still dealing with the aftermath - not sure what settings will be screwed up (connecting to the the internet, etc.). But at least my Pro Tools is working for today's recording session.

Thanks for the help guys.
