Levelator, a powerful tool for recording, which compresses and normalizes automatically, doesn't work in the El Capitan betas (through the Public Beta and beta 3).

Unfortunately, the developers stopped working on it a while back, but I suppose someone who cares might find a way to fix it. I hope.

Peace,
Gene

Lync 2011 works for me (v14.0.11)
Lost Box Sync and VPN client for Juniper (uses Java 6)

Has anyone tried to use the new disk utility to partition/reformat an external drive?

When I click on the drive and then partition the size is grey'd out and unclickable as is the 'apply' tab.

I found that Wineskin *does* work, but I have to "brew install wine --devel" first to have a working set of dependency libraries in /usr/local/lib for it to magically find a working copy of FreeType. Otherwise, TrueType fonts won't render.

No go with Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015. I tried to queue a video from Premiere and all I get is nothing. The program starts but that is it. I can't even import media from my SSD to encoded. This one is a fail for now. I can only export from Premiere which ties up my workflow.

Resolved by reinstalling Encoder.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 (RU6) is also a no-go with El Capitan with error half-way during the installation. 12.1.5 (RU5) is incompatible right at the beginning. Only the migration from Yosemite to El Capitan will "carry over" the existing SEP 12.1.5 (RU5) and seems to remain functional for the most part...

[WORKAROUND] > AV software installs failing

Apogee Maestro isn't finding my Duet for iPad and Mac audio interface. Anyone else not able to connect their interface to Maestro?
Got an Apogee One but the output freezes the audio or video when used. El Cap public beta.

El Capitan PB1 is not recognizing any of my USB drives plugged into my 2014 rMBP. Being unable to use my USB drives makes me feel as if I'm using the rMB

just updated, and (much to my surprise), lots of things are working (or are easy to get working, ie java for dreamweaver, carbon copy cloner's beta)...

i use mailunreadmenu for menubar notification and it's dead. anyone know of an alternative? (to show an icon when in the menubar when there's new email)?

so far, el capitan looks good, seems fast...

EDIT: fyi, crashplan is working here (17july15), with java installed from: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1824?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

EDIT2: oops! it IS backing up, but i can't access the APP itself...

Fixed this, I post it in case anyone has problems with audio freezing: just disable dictation (which is weirdly activated by default), reboot your external audio hardware and you're good to go.

iPhone USB network adapter doesn't work with my iPhone 6+.

Authy Bluetooth can't connect to the iPhone either.

Since about the same time I installed El Capitan, Google Earth always crashes upon every launch attempt. I reinstalled Google Earth, tried it solo with no other app running, but to no avail.
Any comments?

Are you sure Bartender is working now with El Capitan? Even with hiding items in the Bartender-menu bar? Cause didn't hide the items in my Bartender menubar
It looks like Bartender (at least for now) can't affect *system* menu items.

I haven't read all 21 pages of this thread so this may have been mentioned but…

TotalFinder will never work on El Capitan. Binaryage is no longer going to develop it according to their blog post.

The same is probably true for XtraFinder for the same reason. Rootless.

I use Private Internet Access for my VPN. When I'm connected, Safari and Firefox are no longer able to connect to outside servers.

On Aperture bug (RAW input crash): anyone know or can comment on whether the final version of El Capitan will support Aperture? I understand that Aperture is no longer supported by Apple moving forward, but am hoping that the final/stable version of El Capitan will continue to allow Aperture be stable as well.

Oh man this stinks! I love TotalFinder and use its features all the time. :(

According to the facebook page, XtraFinder will be updated to work for 10.11. I assume some of these apps may need rootless temporarily disabled in order to install (such as SIMBL requires) but then will run with rootless re-enabled.
