So I've upgraded to El Capitan, so did the OS software like Photos. Too many bugs happened, so I clean-installed Yosemite again; but Photos app doesn't open, because the current library is a newer version (from El Capitan). Any way to “downgrade” the library, so that it may be open in Yosemite>Photos ?

No. You need to restore from your backup. (You did make one, didn't you?)

Hello,

I just looked it up and here are the issues that Apple lists with aperture
Aperture
Known Issues

  • Importing RAW files may cause the app to quit unexpectedly.
  • The Aperture workspace may disappear occasionally. To bring back the workspace, click on the Aperture icon in the dock.

  • Some Sony RAW images may not appear correctly.

  • Dismissing certain dialogs may cause the workspace to become unresponsive and require a force quit and relaunch.

  • Aperture may quit unexpectedly when attempting to print photos. The Photos app can be used to print instead.

But my take is here that they want to make Aperture compatible with 10.11

Slightly specialist but has anybody had a chance to try any version of MATLAB on 10.11? Getting MATLAB to run on 10.10 was a nightmare i'd like to avoid revisiting.

It's working here, though I occasionally get some audio tearing. I'm not certain that it's the fault of Boom, though, yet.

How is it misbehaving for you?
Thank God. It's working fine after reinstalling. Last time it was force uninstalled saying the app is corrupted.

Mine too, but meanwhile it means keeping on Yosemite if you are a heavy Aperture user.

I asked a couple pages back and someone said they had a newer version working. Would definitely like to avoid the same issues from Yosemite beta too.

Several minor bugs in Photoshop CC in 10.11

- Parts of the text on the loading image are missing
- Moving layers in the layers list does not display the line that shows where the layer will be placed
- Holding the button any of the tools that open a subtool menu (for example, Lasso Tool/Polygonal Lasso/Magnetic Lasso) does not open that menu as it should, but only after you release the button

I am having some problems with the Office 2016 beta. It is listed as working, but it goes black sometimes in the document and when I try to select text it does the same ting and doesn't let me specify the right amount to select.

At least part of the problems seem to be rooted in the RAW support. Quite possible that these will be fixed until release. But further than that, I would not expect much from Apple. They have made very clear that Aperture is basically dead and will no longer be supported or updated.

Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS6, flash CS6 and Dreamweaver CS6 all refuse too open citing that they require java 6...............

I don't have Photoshop CS6....but someone said that it was working....im wondering why, if it was working, the rest of CS6 doesn't work...

Here is something I found to get CS6 Illustrator to work:

1) Download the Java SE 8 DMG from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html and install.
2) enter the following to turn off rootless and then reboot: sudo nvram boot-args="rootless=0"
3) enter these 2 lines: sudo mkdir -p /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk
4) sudo mkdir -p /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle
5) Turn rootless back on and reboot again: sudo nvram boot-args="rootless=1"

I'm wondering if my VPN will work if I install the beta. I have everything backed up via time machine but I really want to know if my VPN works otherwise I won't install it.

I can't get it to work due to this damn "rootless" system in El Capitan.

Put Terminal in the list of Not Working.

You can turn rootless off:

sudo nvram boot-args="rootless=0"

and reboot

and back on:

sudo nvram boot-args="rootless=1"

and reboot

MacID works for me as expected without needing to go rootless. I suspect that's only needed if you are installing it for the first time?
I don't know. I tried 3 times the first go around without it recognizing my phone. Went the rootless route with install and it did ok. The last test, I did as you did, and it installed ok. I did notice, that paring gets lost sometimes, after the screen saver mode kicks in. I didn't have that happen with Yosemite, but several others did. I can live with the small El Capitan beta bug. Kane will get things rocking before long.

It sure is a nice app. So nice not to have to manually enter my password all the time, not to mention being able to control sleep, away, and iTunes with the app. For it being his first ever app, Kane has done a great job.

I am experiencing Mail crashing. It will not launch at all without crashing since I added a POP3 gmail account. Prior to adding the POP3 gmail account, it was fine.

It's a show-stopper for me.

Same problem for me. I was able to launch mail with the shift key down so the offending email wouldn't be selected. I then went into mail prefs>accounts and unchecked "Enable this account"

Don't mean to get you off topic here but I don't want to open another thread. I have a backup via timemachine but I want to know if and what VPN's are working with OS X EL Capitan?
