I'm on a Powerbook G4, Mac OS X 10.4.11

For almost a year now, the "installer" application (or utility, or whatever it is) hasn't existed. When I try and install something that would normally use it, this little icon ( http://i43.tinypic.com/r20qif.png ) hops on the dock a few times, with "INSTALLER" under it, and then disappears. I've tried to work my way around this for quite some time using the application Pacifist, but that's barely worked, and sometimes I don't even think it acheives anything. I don't even know what I did to get rid of the installer, and I can't find any way to get it back. Here's ( http://i42.tinypic.com/2ryrfpv.png ) what my utilities (applications>utilities) folder looks like. Terminal has the same problem as Installer.

On a note that might be related, I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3. One day, Adobe Flash Player simply stopped working. For some reason, stuff like Youtube and certain select things work, but most of the time (on hulu or nfl.com for example), this displays: http://i44.tinypic.com/hwgygg.png . any attempts I've made to install flash player obviously haven't worked, as this message keeps getting displayed.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
