Why is this showing up now? Is this coming from Norton's site, did I do anything wrong?
okay, so now it's detecting the same residual garbage in its own cache :D It's really looking like Norton badly screwed up on that signature update.

Sigh.

Do you all realize there have been dozens of trojans in the past five years for OS X? The point is that none of them spread as there are no mechanisms in the OS for silent and automatic infection. The Mac platform remains unplagued by viruses and trojans, but it has always been possible to infect your machine with something if you download it and run it yourself.

I can't wait until this meaningless hooplah blows over.

A voice of sanity. Thank you. This will all be gone soon. the people profiting out of it are the AV companies who are bitter about not being able to sell us their crap. I use clamXav, which is built on clamav, which is freeware. And before anyone says "Why should I trust a free AV program?", clamav is included in Mac OSX Server Edition. Whenever a file hits the desktop, it is autoscanned. Sorted.

I'd be much happier to trust a free program than one where the company stands to profit from making you scared...

I still don't run antivirus though, and won't until there are viruses.
