Our First-Ever AAPL Conspiracy Theory ...

Today we are Predicting that upon First Availability of the iPhone XR (Fri, Oct 26), something new will occur for the first-time ever in the 11-year History of iPhone Introductions.

Specifically, we are Predicting that a High Number of new iPhone XS & XS Max owners will 2nd Guess their Decision NOT to have waited for the XR.

We don't think something like this has ever happened before.

Hard to tell at this point, but there could be a Flood of Returns (of the XS & XS Max) ... more specifically, Exchanges to the XR.

It's fairly clear the XS Max has Outsold the XS by a 4x factor (mostly because of the small $100 USD difference in Starting Prices, but ALSO because the XS is perceived to be too similar to last year's model).

It's ALSO fairly obvious that XS Max owners would have the most financial incentive to Exchange to the XR.

We also firmly believe "the spacing" between the XS / XS Max launch AND the XR launch was EXTREMELY intentional ... just enough distance between them so that MOST will NOT be able to Return OR Exchange their XS or XS Max.

And now today, we're hearing about the possibility of further Delays for the XR.

If you hear Stories on the internet about AAPL dealing with Production Issues / Delays with the XR, that's just them "Blowing Smoke up your Skirt" (figure of speech there, of course) ... AAPL is deadly worried about this possibility (of XS / XS Max Returns AND/OR Exchanges).

Stated differently, the Delay could be Real, the Reason for the Delay is very-likely Manufactured.

We first started reporting on this just yesterday.

We're usually Ahead of the Curve compared to everyone else, & that certainly includes the so-called Pro Stock Analysts who cover AAPL.

Also, we believe AAPL is currently trading ~2x above it's "true" market value ... that's what Leadership in Stock Buybacks will get you.

Extremely unlikely many current Xs owners will be eyeing the XR at all. The iPhone Xs has an actual 2019-ready screen, dual cameras, 3D Touch, and more durable build quality, all of which are useful features to those who are willing and able to pay the high price of the Xs.

What a bunch of BS.

Can't see people trading in their MAX for the XR, I would not even consider it.

The XR is an entry level iPhone and it will not have anything special that would attract Max owners.

I feel like the real target market for the Xr are 6/6S/7 users even 8 users that don't want to upgrade to a X/XS/XS Max.

The only ones that may feel regret are the ones that didn't need the XS specific features (screen, dual camera) and bought it because it was first out.

I thought twice about reading this post. I regret my decision and I gave up halfway through.

Look, Mr. Freelancer Market Analyst:

-iPhone Xr will launch later because it will.

Conspiracy? No.

Apple hitting target markets and hedging the two designs apart for maximum retention. Yes.

It’s simple marketing and economics.

On top of that, offering toooooo many decisions together is what really leads to returns and exchanges.

This is why many products become short supply online and in stores before Apple refreshes them.

Can’t return something if it is past the 14 day return period. 9/21 to 10/26 is more than 14 days.
But many won’t have their phones until well after 9/21. Either way, this post is waaaaaaaaaay out there on logic.

Just who the folks are “We” that you’re speaking off? We at Samsung? You’re on the wrong forum.

Could you just go back to slamming Tesla and shorting that? I was really enjoying this aspect of Tesla, it kept "stories" like this out of the forums.

I think the amount of people who swap there Xs/Max for the Xr will be about the same as those who swapped from the X to the 8/8+ last year.... No conspiracy just changing their mind.

And in February 2019, everyone who bought an Xr/Xs/XS-Max will trade it in for the new Samsung Galaxy S10 because everyone knows that phone will blow out every phone in existence to shreds while Michael Jackson comes out of his grave to pull off a moon walk DDT on yo @$$:p:D

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!

That’s wrong, because those who changed to the 8 from an X will have done so due to not liking the design or something, if you go from an XS to an XR your kinda swapping like for like and it’s a bit pointless, unless you can’t have the OLED because it gives you headaches.

The endowment bias is when people value things more after having owned it than they would if they never owned it. By that principle I think very few people will exchange it.

More likely, a lot of people will choose the Xr over the Xs when comparing both side-by-side, when there is no endowment bias.

What a ridiculous post. How do you think they intentionally spaced out the launch to avoid returns, yet still think there will be massive returns, which you just said isn't possible.

Sure, some people may value more cash in their pocket, but I choose the higher-priced Max for a reason. I wanted the best iPhone possible, no compromises. That is worth the extra money to me.
