Essentially what the OP is saying, this is a conspiracy theory can’t be proven, so therefore this is nothing more than an anecdotal opinion on a tech forum.

Conspiracy? Meh.

However, like most of those, there’s a nugget of truth. I have a launch day max 256 that I’m more than 50% likely to return by next Friday and use my four year old 6 until the xr launches.

I want to give the max the benefit of using it for more than a week before deciding, but: it’s expensive, heavy and big for my tastes (but again want to see if I adjust). The xr is not only cheaper at base, they also have a much less expensive memory upgrade (64 to 128) for $50 vs the max’s (64 to 256) $150. For my use case, 128 is preferable.

While I’m a sample size of one , I would wager there are more than a few like me out there.

The Adirondacks.
Not probable, totally intentional. Apple knew the true battery life on the new phones is crap, and the antenna design is piss poor at best. Just read Tom's test, and save any arguments that his battery life testing is not the Gold Standard. Apple is getting as much traction as they can out of the ever faithful gotta have it now crowd. Just that this year they knew they had to get even more Magical.

They know the demand out there is for the XR. They will screw people until the last minute. Once the XR is available to order it will slowly enter. Shipping dates will all slip, it will be all ********.

Gonna squeeze people for the high margins shiny object for all their worth. To think otherwise is to be criminally ignorant as to how Tim runs the show. :apple:
