GUANGZHOU, CN 04/02/2010 4:10 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

Let's see, 4:10 AM scan means the plane wasn't wheels up for at least another hour, 5:10AM. Flying East across the IDL they will gain time and arrive shortly after they left. :D Flight time is approx 16 hours and the time difference is 12 hours between Guangzhou and Louisville (UPS hub). Of course that doesn't count the time on the ground in Alaska. But theoretically it could reach Louisville around 9AM today. Plenty of time. No Sweat.

With the sheer number of units scheduled for delivery tomorrow, I would say although improbable, it is not entirely impossible that we will see a few delivered today.

No.

UPS has hired on a bunch of drivers for Saturday delivery. They aren't going to deliver them until tomorrow. Count on it.

Nice Hoax Tulsa

Take a look at our Tulsa friend again. No Alaska stop?? All in same day - even with the date line crossover? I would bet against this one.

I hope you get it today.

Also if you do can you post pics and tell us what rubbish it is? That way we won't feel so bad having to wait until tomorrow. :)

Mine also says out for delivery - but I'm not holding out hope at this point - i figure they'll make some exception to hold it til tomorrow. My ups guy usually shows between 10-1 - so I guess I'll know in a few hours..but as others have mentioned, there will probably be some exception.

I TRULY hope that ALL of you that pre-ordered the WiFi-only models get your iPads TODAY! Honestly, I really do!

HOWEVER... See the shipping threads for the iPhone.... This exact same type of "Out for delivery" tracking information happened for some folks 1 day before the official iPhone 3GS release date. And, later in the day, the delivery status changed to an "Exception" and those folks didn't actually receive their iPhones until the following day (official release date).

Now... given that tomorrow is Saturday, I HOPE I am wrong and Apple has decided to let some of ya'll have them a day early. But just don't be surprised if they DON'T arrive today!

Something productive... like bragging about how your order was out for delivery? Pot... meet kettle.

I am sure the OP didn't mean productive per say. But the fact that the dude replying wasn't really contributing anything meaningful to the thread.

@mark booth - exactly. I'm not holding my breath but I am around the house today - so I will either print the preauth or not leave between 10-1 :) obviously if I do receive it I'll post back here, but I better post a full res shot of me holding it with a paper displaying today's date and pixel perfect so nobody calls 'fake!' lol

Mine also says out for delivery. The odd thing that is when I went to bed last night, it only said "Billing Information Received."

When I first saw it out for delivery, it was at 9:22AM, then the time changes later to this 7:12AM.

Well you guys just had to make a thread in a known Apple employee trolling location. They probably read this then scrambled to yell at UPS.

I highly doubt apple employees got on here then yelled at ups - more likely this is just par for the course with ups tracking info and their loading lines. Either way - no biggie.

No, the holds were already in place. Same thing happened last year with the 3GS. Status showed "Out For Delivery" a day early and then the exceptions came.

Mine still shows it is out for delivery. Maybe I won't get the same notice. But if I do, at least I know I'll get it tomorrow. :D

I wont look like an ass... all I did was post a screenshot of my packages out to be delivered... geez people get over your self!

What you did was to get all the gullible people excited over nothing. That's the thing that makes you look like an ass.

EDIT: Most of the iPad preorders are probably in your local UPS facility at this very moment, but they're in a secured area well away from the normal operations area. They aren't going to walk out of security and into the delivery trucks all by themselves.

The only people looking like asses are the nOObs that spent more time posting than they spend reading and learning.

Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Looks more updated than the others for your UPS delivery:

http://www.packagetrackr.com

Shows my package in route from Louisville, others not even in Kentucky.

well apparently mine is on a truck from alaska heading straight here according to packagetrackr.com. and i don't honestly believe that the ups center here will seriously put these things in a secure room in my home town. Probably only 4 or 5 total coming here at the most. but who knows...
