I am running Outlook version 14.4.6 on a 15-inch mid-2010 Macbook Pro. My OS is Yosemite Version 10.10.

I have a similar problem where the "Accounts" page either doesn't load, or it eventually loads but then I am unable to add any accounts. I'll click the little "+" box at the bottom left-hand side of the window and the little drop down menu flashes briefly but then disappears. This very annoying.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I have installed a new HD and migrated back from my previous system with the same issue.
I have reinstalled Outlook.
I have updated Outlook to the latest.
I have rebuilt the Database.
I have created a new User Account...

Same Outlook - Tools - Accounts-white-screen issue every time...
= OSX System issues ?!
= Hardware video issues (doubt it every other App is perfectly fine) ?!

MacBook Pro 2010 15" OSX 10.9.5.latest

Um-m-m-m-m, no. Outlook 2011 is not the Outlook that you used for years. Outlook 2011 is the new name for Entourage, a Mac-only communications client from Microsoft. When Microsoft changed the client's name, it added some Outlook-compatibility features.

The way that you know that you have the correct settings is not to be "pretty sure" based on your experience with a Windows application with a similar name. If your settings match the setting that I gave you, then you will be more than "pretty sure."

So rude.

Retina Problem

This is a pretty simple problem that has no solution, only updating your App is the solution. It has to do with Outlook not being retina ready, there's a bug when trying to display the window to add the account, that's it. Btw...Outlook does not hang...when you hit to add the account...just hit ESC and you'll be out of the invisible window and back to the beginning...in fact...right after you hit Add account...and it "freezes" if you type some random stuff and hit enter the window will act...meaning it is actually there you just can't see it.

Mate, your comment here is pure genius wow... I just tested out your theory & it worked... For those reading this thread who don't wanted to upgrade to 14.2.3, I just followed freddyr0's suggestion & figured out that you can work around this problem without upgrading your Outlook Software by doing the following:

=================================
1. Click the "+" Sign
2. Click "Email"
3. Type the following EXACTLY as I've typed it below:

test@ (tab-button)
test (tab-button)
test (tab-button)
test (tab-button)
test (enter-button)

4. Boom... The account get's created & is visible... You can then go into the account settings & edit all those lots of "test" text that you entered in there & you'll have a fully functional email account & can then repeat the process for as many other email accounts that you wish to have.
=================================

I dare say that you could possibly also work around this retina/outlook problem if you plugged an external monitor via HDMI Cable up to your MBPr & just went through the process normally by viewing what you're actually doing (but I haven't tested this theory).

All sorted.

Think I figured it out...

Are you running Outlook on version 14.1? If so, you need to update to 14.2.3.
(You can check by opening Outlook -> "About Outlook" and see the Version Number)
To update, open Outlook and click Help -> Check for Updates. When I did this, it found a "Bug Reporting Tool" and the update to 14.2.3.

Once I did the update, I can now add accounts!

This whole thing is odd though... I always run updates before using applications, and that's what I did before trying to use Office. It must have been an extra update that was found once I shut down my computer.
Anyways, let me know if that worked for you!

I've found out that you just need to update what version you have ....... just doesn't matter...... just update your current version and done!
best
