I currently have 9.1 Public-beta, for tomorrow's real deal 9.0 GM, do i simply remove the beta profile from my device now and simply update over the air tomorrow??

Thanks,

I think that you need downgrade to 8.4.1 and then update to 9.0, because you can't restore to lower fw than you have (except if you have downloaded ipsw).

You can't update from 9.1 to 9.0...it doesn't work like that. You'll have to restore to the 9.0 .ipsw or enter DFU mode and click restore.

about 2 hours ago i hanged up after speaking with 2 Apple adviser and 2 senior advisers both times different calls, which on both calls they confirm that since 9.1 is a beta that i would be able to download the 9.0 tomorrow without a problem and Over the air also.

While already being on 9.1? That's not how it's supposed to work (since 9.1 is a later version than 9.0 you wouldn't be offered to update to the "older" 9.0 version).

9.1 won't offer you the OTA update because 9.1 has a newer build number than 9.0. You only get prompted to update when the system locates a newer build than what you're running.

Unless they changed the way OTA 'updates' work, you were misinformed. I would love to be proven wrong, but we'll see tomorrow.

I am downgrading to 8.4.1 myself as I haven't yet decided if my daughter will receive my 6+ as my 6s+ arrives next Friday.

This is how you unenroll:
https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/unenroll#ios

This assumes that you have archived a back up. Not sure if it will work if you haven't. No harm in waiting until tomorrow to see if the support reps are right.

You can't just click restore. That'll just wipe the device but keep the software version you have. You have to go into recovery mode or DFU mode and restore through that. iTunes will then automatically download the latest public software for you which is 8.4.1.

To me it looks like apple is closing the option of going from betas to public releases. Looks that way for OS X too.

It's possible. I did it many, many times this year. I always go the manual route by directing iTunes to the .ipsw file on my computer.

okay so what does all this mean to me then, my iphone now shows 8.4.1 so is it possible i can download OTA tomorrow to 9.0? and then would the restore from back-up be compatible with my phone? and not say the version on my device is too old??

That's correct.

For future reference, backups cannot be put onto an older software version. For example, iOS 9 is newer than iOS 8.4.1 therefore 9.0 backups cannot be loaded onto a device running 8.4.1.
