Overclocking a macbook is a great way to make an expensive paperweight.

Not really. I've overclocked countless CPUs over the years. The only two that I destroyed were an old Celeron processor that I forgot to put a heatsink on and an Athlon XP-M (may have been an X2, I forget) that I managed to corrode the pins off when I'd failed to create a good seal around the head of my phase change cooling system and condensation from water in the air got in. Even that one worked fine until I unplugged it from the board and several of the pins came out in the process.

You'd be surprised. Overclocking itself (as long as you have proper cooling) shouldn't do any damage. The chips also have built in protection from overheating so if they run too hot they'll automatically cool down.

Even if you try setting the clock 10x higher than it should be, all that will happen is you'll crash and you'll need to restart.

The way you kill chips is by overvolting. This is the dark side of overclocking. If you don't do this then you are safe.

He said "any" macs not being specifically the air. Maybe a mac pro or imac. Do you know?

Mac Pro have their own overclocking software for OSX.

iMac, if you have the nVidia card, nTune works. I'm not sure about the others. Taking apart an iMac is a pain.

Your not hearing me or him. OCing through "windows" not osx and using "setfsb". And that Software for the mac pro does not work for the 2009 mac pros.

I did hear him and you. This is what I know about overclocking on a mac, in windows.

For any system with a nVidia 9400M card, it uses an nVidia motherboard, therefore all you need is nTune.

For Intel board iMacs, I dont know. I never bothered checking.

For the older Mac Pro, the overclocking software in OSX actually states what ICS it is. Therefore you can easily copy that and go into Windows to overclock.

The newer Mac Pro, I don't know either. You'll have to physically look at it.

And for SetFSB, I don't use that program. This entire post has nothing to do with that program either, it was specified for the Air because it's heavily underpowered compared to the other laptops and/or desktops.
