Hi,

Does anyone else also experience between 5-7% battery drain overnight? I also tried to disable the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and also activate the low power mode and I still lost 4% overnight.

I didn't try to activate Airplane mode overnight. What happens if you let the Wi-Fi turned ON?
Problem is I don't have wifi at home (GF wants it off...). If I leave LTE on I'll lose a little more, maybe 5/6%. LTE really chewed battery

Why would she want it off?!

For some reason my battery held very steady last night.

I did install a new WiFi 6 router, the Netgear RAX70. I wonder if that had any effect. I guess time will tell, if that’s the only thing that changed, maybe there really is something to WiFi 6 helping with mobile battery life.

That’s great to hear. How does the RAX70 acting until now? What do you think about it? Is it worth it?

My 13 pro max also drop between 4-7% in standby mode for around 9 hours. It’s the same as my old XS Max. Little disappointing considering the battery is much bigger on this phone so it shouldn’t drain that much.

If the lithium ion battery was removed from the iPhone, it wouldn’t significantly discharge in over a year.
When the iPhone is turned OFF, it’s not really off. It’s still doing things. The clock is still running and only Apple knows what else.

So far it has been great. I'm replacing a 4 node Orbi RBK53 mesh system with it, and the coverage is actually better, which is very surprising.

Wow, today it was even more bad than my old XS Max. 100% charge and 10 hours later it was at 90% doing absolutely nothing and there's no activity on the battery settings to explain this. I'm starting to hate my new phone now.

I usually switch to Airplane mode (+WiFi and BT) when I'm home and not expecting calls. This saves a lot of battery and overnight drain was minimal. I have to leave the antenna on (mobile data OFF) nowadays because there seems to be a bug with Find My where if you have airplane mode toggled, the background usage of Find my stays at 100% constantly and kills the battery. (iPhone 13 Mini but possibly any device that is paired with AirTags)

Follow up after a couple of days.

Constant issues with our Apple TV’s, returning the RAX70 ?

Uhhh, last night I completely turned off the phone (unplugged) before bed and took a screenshot of the battery % SOC before it shut off.
This morning I booted up the phone and the battery % was 3% HIGHER than what it was when it shut down the previous night.

This leads to only one conclusion:

THE BATTERY INDICATOR IS NOT ACCURATE

Take a look at your iPhone battery percentage using Coconut Battery app on your computer. You can see that Apple is over reporting the battery percentage as much as 5% and it drops <1%. Hopefully, Apple will this in a iOS 15 point release. Just need as many as possible to report the issue.
